Hey guys. Been a while since i posted a decklist.

With my creative mind, the release of Plasma Storm and help from others, My Gallade/Ho-oh Deck has finally (well almost) come to fruition. While i am lacking a few cards I'm using proxies, but that is beside the point.

Here is my intended list:

4-1-3 Gallade
4 Ho-oh EX
--- 12 Pokemon

2 Fire
2 Fighting
2 Lightning
1 Grass
2 Water
2 Psychic
1 Metal
2 DCE
--- 14 Energy

4 Juniper
4 Ultra Ball
3 Catcher
3 N
2 Colress
3 Energy Switch
2 Escape Rope
4 Rare Candy
2 Random Receiver
3 Ether
3 Pokedex
1 Computer Search
--- 34 Tr/Su

STRATEGY: Set up Gallade and get Ho-oh in and out of the discard pile as quick as possible. Then conjure the Powerful Storm.

The damage potential of Gallade, per its energy requirements, is insane. Even with only one Ho-oh EX set up with its Rebirthed Energy, Gallade hits at minimum 100. Right there thats enough to OHKO Mewtwo. With 2 Ho-oh that's 160 for technically 2 Energy. This is enough to knockout any high HP pokemon such as Blastoise, Terrakion, Kyurem, even Plasma Klinklang who's new deck is probably Gallade's worst enemy besides Mewtwo and... itself. Also not only can Gallade KO those Pokemon but KOing an EX is as easy as manually attaching an Energy effectively boasting 180 damage and even with Eviolite, Pokedex Ether pushes the limits to 200 damage. Instant Knockout.

Personally I find this deck to be quicker than its Gardevoir variant since Ho-oh can get much more energy on the field in a short amount of time. While Ho-oh Ability is flippy, getting as many of them in the discard increases my chances of flipping heads for Rebirth which has been the strategy for previous Ho-oh decks (my own included). Also Hammers for once, i consider a non-issue since this deck runs only 2 Special Energy and Ho-oh can just get Energy back if at least one is in my discard pile. Since this deck will get slap happy with discarding this shouldn't be much of a problem.

Further testing is needed, but this is turning out to be a strong deck. Not to toot my own horn...

Questions and comments welcome.

"Turning out to be a strong deck" How strong? Can it hold up against fast decks like Landorus? Also, I doubt 2 escape ropes is enough. Perhaps you don't worry because Ho-oh can just retreat for two and then put energies on another? Just curious, love the deck.

Yeah I don't really worry about switching though I did consider Scramble Switch over Computer Search. I haven't encountered any Landorus decks since making this and just about every time my opponent started with Mewtwo I started with Ho-oh, which normally would be a horrible start but actually let's me stall a bit so I can set up. But like I said further testing is needed.

Maybe include a tool scrapper for the stray garbage or exp share.

I actually tested against a Garbodor deck and I got Ho-oh set up before Garbobor did and then Gallade blew 'em up. The attackers with Garbodor were another story. I very narrowly lost by a textbook new deck misplay. It happens to anyone making a new deck.

i would say run a 4-0-4 line of gallade since u run 4 candies for consistency.
it's much easier to get the 4-0-4 lines up.

I think I'd stick with the 4-1-3 line up, just in case some crazy guy at your league starts playing trainer-lock Zebstrika *coughdefinitelynotmecough*

I agree with Normal guy:

-1 Metal
-1 Grass

+2 DCE

Hope it helps! :thumb:

Update

In the first few matches i played with this deck, it has shown promising results:

This are the most notable matches:

1st match: vs. Gallade/Gardevoir/Giratina EX = I won (very close match)
This kids deck works surprisingly well and it was pretty back and fourth; both down to our last prize. He had a lot of insurance on the field. He KOed my Gallades so i was down to two Ho-oh. He had a damaged Giratina in the active, and a Sigilyph benched, so if Gira is KOed he would come up with Sigilyph and prevent me from attacking. Mind you this was before and during my last prize. I drew into a Catcher  brought up his Gardy, Energy Switched to secure a 2HKO. This ultimately won me the game.

2nd match: vs. Darkrai stuff = I win
This one honestly surprised me since Darkness deck resist Psychic, but really i won thanks to my Ho-ohs and minimal Sp. Energy to hammer. His Crushing Hammers were void thanks to Ho-oh's Rebirth. Was it luck? Probably. Overall, i won by 2 prizes. Yay.

3rd match: vs Blatoise/Keldeo = Narrow loss
This was another last prize match. It was relatively easy to KO his non-EXs. But he had this Manaphy teched in as extra Energy accel. I didn't know whether or not to knock it out since if i did, she would get a free card. This is what ultimately cost me the match as he was able to set up and i couldnt get a Catcher in my hand. It was still a close match though, so I'm okay with it.

These aren't all the matches just the ones that stood out to me. I really like my deck and i think i will stick with it for a while.:thumb:
