The second season doesnt follow the first in a chrnological order but the episodes belond between those of the first season? So even the chrnological order was wrong?

I though Higurashi was confusing, sheesh...
 
The chronological order of the first season wasn't "wrong" because it was chronological. The new series just expands the first, filling in some of the missing gaps.

So far, the new series looks like this:
1 The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi Part 1
2 The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi Part 2
3 The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi Part 3
4 The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi Part 4
5 The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi Part 5
6 The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi Part 6
7 The Boredom of Suzumiya Haruhi
8 Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody (New)
9 Mysterique Sign
10 Remote Island Syndrome Part 1
11 Remote Island Syndrome Part 2
12 Endless Eight (New)

Currently, the only missing old episodes are (in this order):
"The Adventures of Asahina Mikuru Episode 00"
"Live Alive"
"The Day of Sagittarius"
"Someday in the Rain"

So, we may get another new episode next before "The Adventures of Asahina Mikuru Episode 00" to help set that episode up.
 
It just gives you the feeling that nothing new will happen since you already know the last episode :/
And someday in the rain is a real strange one anyway, nothing happens xD
 
"Someday in the Rain" might not be the last episode. The new series is scheduled to air for 28 episodes. Fourteen of those episodes are the original season and fourteen episodes are new, so there's four old episodes and twelve new episodes left.
 
True, it still feels odd to add episodes in an already existing timeline :/
Does anyone of you know about the novels etc that the anime is based on ?
And is there a haruhi manga out in english ?
 
From my understanding (because I haven't read the novels yet), the original series skipped a lot of things from the novels, so the second series is going in a filling some of those holes.

I know volumes 1 and 2 (maybe 3?) of the manga are out in English.
 
Ok that would explain it. In Higurashi they had an xtra arc to include stuff that was left out, because the creator demanded this arc to be made.

So probably most of the new episoded will be after the first season. Really looking forward to it, the story is really odd, i wonder what will happen.

Are the mangas available at most book shops? Because then I know what to look for at worlds :p

I know I got mine at the Borders at Annapolis Mall, so I'm guessing pretty much any major bookstore. :p

Its some time since I watched it but iirc it was the arc with the grown up rena.
The scene where she remembers sitting in her car at the trash whatever (forgot the word) and rika shows up and offers her the syridge because it would help her. And Rika acts creepy and stuff (grown up) and not like she usually does. This scene was definitly one of those that where added later on, I think it was in that arc. The scene originates from the "Hints" that came with the novel and the game.
How about someone making a higurashi thread :p ?

You have Chii posters and I'm the pervert. Right.

But then again, my room used to be covered with Chii stuff too (mostly Chii wallscrolls). Chobits was the first anime I actually bought. Finding that darn sealed Limited Edition Collector's Box was a PAIN that took 2-3 years.

Someday In The Rain is one of the most interesting episodes! It shows so much feeling and only assumes that there is more to the anime than meets the eye. And as every Suzumiya fan might realize now, that there is ALWAYS something more than meets the eye when it comes to Haruhi.
 
Yeah someday in the rain felt special but i still had hopes something would happen.
The end was kidna cute but the part where you could watch yuki read a book for over 2 minutes?

I finally picked up the second season. And I watched the entire "endless 8" today.
I've never felt so drained in my life, this is unbelievable, really... Also the episode order is more confusing then ever >.<

The brilliance of Haruhi is how the episodes were released, the release order seems to mean something. There are simply things that are missed when you try and watch it in "chronical" order.
 
I would have liked something other than 8 episodes of the same thing over and over. When's season 3 start?
 
Can someone list the order of episodes in release order; I am having trouble finding it. This looks like a really cool series and I can't wait to read and/or see it.
 
Endless Eight is the worst thing to happen to Haruhi ever. At least the animators weren't lazy. :\ I was totally hoping for so much more from this series, but all we got was Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody, Endless Eight, and The Sigh of Suzumiya Haruhi. Three new stories out of 14 episodes. I blame Endless Eight and the fact that Kyoto Animation are trolls.

Also, I've changed my stance from "release order is best" to "chronological order is best" there are some things that you will miss if you watch it in release order.

The release order of the new episodes is chronological, so if you have the original Haruhi release order, just tack the new episodes onto the list in order.
