Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

The THIRD ANNUAL "GEORGIA MARATHON"....!!!!

I'm coming - and I live in Massachusetts. So's my little brother Henry. We just love Georgia... we've gone down twice prior to see the aquarium. But this time, we'll be playing in Newnan, Franklin, Marietta, Lawrenceville, and Kennesaw.... woot!

Massachusetts...??...No Way....?? Cool... Good Competition in All age Groups...You WILL
Have a Blast and Put it on Your Calendar for Next Year......Thanks for Coming to Georgia....!!!

Keith....Way to funny!!!! What days are you going to be on the trail?? We will have to get out one night.

Gary.....I think most are starting Monday in Georgia. We might sneak out of here for Sunday but the plan now is for Monday through the rest of the week. Hope that helps.

@Jim: The schedule is still in flux. Gotta get the wife to allow me a yard pass for a few days. So far, she hasn't been too accomodating. If I make it down, it will probably be mid week in the Northern Atlanta venues. Shoot me a PM with your hotel plans (John was supposed to, but hasnt yet).

Keith

^Thats the Jim R I love....dropping the Pikachu at every opportunity....even while playing billiards......well, you know the rest of the story. The_sniper just LOVES the Pika drops all around town! LOL

Keith

Such a slacker that John.........

Yeah, Pikachu. Way to bury us right into the ground Jim

@ Keith, I guess we will be playing Monday thru whenever from what Steve told me lol I'm working thru Thurday this week- no rest for the weary ;)

Hope the Mrs. lightens up on you a bit my friend.

The marathon has become tradition, and you don't mess with tradition !

Merry Christmas!!

go on the pokemon OP website and look at the event schedule for CCs. they differ.

this is a good segue into a concern i am having:

dec 29, in franklin at the library-

I assume this is the same location as last year? I think we had 30 masters? This year we may hit upwards of 40 for MA, and of course some kids (JRs and SRs) will be coming too. The library was pretty small in that one room we were limited to. Are we going to fit in the same room? If we see roughly the same numbers that went last year, and we expect to see 20+ new people, that is a huge load that I don't think can be handled at that location.

what about the pizza restaurant location? i haven't ever been to one of these restaurants, and ive also never played pokemon in a place other than a card shop or hotel.

Yea it's the same library as last year and all of the other tournaments in Franklin and it is EXTREMELY small I'm sure Gary will come up with something though. I went to one of the pizza places this weekend for a city and it was small and the owner got kinda pissed halfway through the tournament because he had scheduled a B-day party at the same time(great planning there) and the non Pokemon and B-day customers were having a problem finding somewhere to eat. They had a outdoor area that wasn't in use that probably could have been if things get desperate for room. This was a diff location than the one left so hopefully the one in Kennesaw will have more room or not schedule two evens @ the same time.

another issue with the franklin location is the 1pm registration end time.

according to http://www.wgrl.net/Branches/Franklin/hcpl.htm

their latest hours are 7:30. is 6.5 hours enough time to have a top 8 for masters, which is likely what the numbers will dictate? will it be limited to a t4? will they extend their hours?

From what I was told the Pizza Manager messed up by scheduling 2 events that day and has
appologized...He wants Pokemon back...It's an adequate location and I understand we will eat all
day for $4.99...?? Don't get the pizza on the cards..

There is Not a Time problem on the Franklin Library. I have a key to that room and will lockup when
ever we get through. There is a space problem however. I will probably have a bigger location for
the next Cities. For this one....there is a door opposite the door you come in...It opens to a paved
parking lot...Forecast is 50ish and Sunny...I'm bringing in extra table and chairs. I can get more in
that room and outside. The Juniors and Seniors should be through before dark. I was expecting
around 50 or so....It looks like it could be 75 or so....It is what it is....And I will Make it Work.

2 More Days Until the Kickoff......9:00am in Dothan, Al.......Fire it up...!!!! Bring it On...!!! And
HAVE FUN....!!!

See You Guys and Gals on the "Pokemon Trail",

I am serious about bringing my own table and chairs and I would suggest others that can to do the same. These events are going to be big. I have a count of 25 Masters from Florida coming just that I know of. These cities will be most States events with at least 2 World Champions in the field.

Seniors alone---Justin (National junior champ last year) Brandon (3rd at Nationals, juniors two years ago) Austin (Regional Champion last year) Grafton (Fl champ last year) Ann-(top senior state of TN)
Daylin (world competator last year) need I go on and on!!!!!!!

I believe it is the toughest competition outside of Nationals and Worlds!!!!Tymon, Gary, and Greg do an outstanding job with the tournaments. It is very tough, but the players are great representatives of what Pokemon players should be. I always look forward to seeing everyone each year!!! Good luck to everyone and I hope to see you there!!!

Ken

Hey Ken,
It will be great to see you guys as well. Sounds like Grafton will have his hands full all week just like last year. Dlynn is doing great. She finished her transplant yesterday and will be recovering the week we are gone. Hate to leave her but she insisted on it. Like John Silvestro said.....This is Tradition!!

You have created a monster Gary and be proud of it!! Still working out the plans for a short visit down. At least my appellate brief is completed and filed. That is the main hurdle outta the way. Why doesnt anyone mention the possible PTOs that will play???? We bring mad skillz LOL.

Keith

Keith....There are definately Skills there. That's why we are TO's and PTO's...:biggrin:I'm getting
ready...One Hour till Blast Off...!!! I heard that Heidi Craig is already in Dothan with her crowd.
In Newnan and the Atlanta Area I'm expecting Keith Haas (The Lawman) and Randy Curry. Jeff
Reynolds was at 2 last year and may get to show up this year. I haven't heard from Clay Mitchell..
He came to a few last year and I'm expecting him to show up for at least at few in the Atlanta area.
Some of my players went to Mississippi last weekend and Mike Schell said something about
maybe bringing a Van Full over. Get Ready to DO BATTLE Pokemon Players....!!! Plenty of PTO's
to Take Points From.......LOL.....!!!!:thumb:...Let the GAMES BEGIN...!!!

See you Guys and Gals on the "Pokemon Trail",
