Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

The Yanmega craze!

Because Weavile/Slowking/Ambipom isn't obvious? or Serperior?

How can a single card be obvious?

Serperior is a very interesting card but didn't see much play because everyone believed the format was dominated by certain decks. I mean, who would have expected Kingdra Prime to do so well in a format where Emboar and Typhlosion are very popular?

It's an easy choice when choosing to play a well-known popular deck. Even if some people have looked at Sharpedo before, it took a good player taking a risk to do well with it at an event.

The game needs more players like that in my opinion. I'd like to be surprised when I sit down and see what my opponent is playing, not face the same few decks every round.

Just buy/trade 4 of everything when each set comes out. Then you can build ANY DECK you want and don't have to worry about secondary market spikes and dips.

I do sympathize a little with thread creator though, cause primes are not as rare as LV X or old EX cards, but the pricetags don't quite reflect that.

Bottom line, if you want a cards value to drop, convince people to stop WINNING with it.

There really is no obvious counters to the card atm, because the Yanmega player will usually run something which covers it's weaknesses, and it's free retreat makes sure it can easilly bring out that counter. It's the card thats most reponsible for T2/T3 donks, closely followed by Donphan, which is why there is so much uproar about winning the opening coinflip. The only way to beat it is to manipulate you hand to make it hard as possible for your opponent to match.

Prime, how is Yanmega a random card? I bought a bunch of them LONG before they were $60 each.

I think it's a card a lot of the "average" players overlooked. But most of the community knew about it.

What are they seriously selling for? I have not as of yet been able to get $40 for one. I have quite a few spare.

Not surprising. The value probably peaked between Canadian and US Nats.

For most players the season is over. The people going to Worlds most likely have (or can borrow) the cards they need.

Tourneys don't start again until Sept, and even then it's only BRs. People are unlikely to pay big money for cards they won't be using competitively for months. We have two more sets coming out before Citys, and who knows how good Yanmega will be then?

All I have to say is nationals made me THE pokemon hustler. hustle hustle hard hard

Evidently. Just do what I do - buy a week's Worth of Yanmega Cards from TrollandToad when they were 9.99 USD.

Wait until it spikes up in price, then sell at undercut at 25-30 dollars, at half market value. Return value is 300 percent.

???

Profit!

Already sold enough Yanmega's within the past month to have made a significant profit. Time to buy new laptop herpaderp.

I highly doubt yanmega will be beat by these upcoming sets....i just don't see anything except maybe Thundorus....
