Venusaur or Alakazam + pokemon center with a Charizard attacker = fun. unless you faced a blastoise, which is why venusaur was better than alakazam. pokemon center also worked with Arcanine and Alakazam with a benched chansey. they're somewhat reprinting it in max restore in a more centralized version.

I miss the days of base and the 05-06 modified format because the games were quicker. I don't like things that slow the game down. Pokemon Powers/Poke-Powers/Abilities that could be used every turn are bad for the game, imo. Examples of these were Gardevoir's (Secret Wonders) Telepass and Claydol's (Great Encounters) Cosmic Power. Cards like this created 40+ minute games. Even attacks like Furret's (Secret Wonders) Keen Eye are quite time-consuming. I do realize that as years pass, the game would grow stale if we didn't add a variety of new abilities & attacks, but I wish there was more effort from Japan on printing cards that kept the games shorter. Cyrus's Conspiracy = Search for 3 cards? Too time-consuming!

Cyrus's Conspiracy = Search for 3 cards? Too time-consuming!
what makes it "time consuming" is when people play it properly and use that time to check their deck to figure out what's prized and what isn't. computer search was the same thing. a smart player won't just flush out what they need at that moment, but will also look around to see what they will need later. if you feel like they're taking too long in their search cards, just call a judge over if it is really bothering you, but you'll notice that the first search is the long one, the second search isn't really long at all. unless they searched out their deck for something that they needed and didn't look for later game stuff. then they search again and realize it's prized.

I think this format needed double rainbow energy. Basically every deck is low energy basics/stage 1's... Double rainbow would have helped stage 1/2 decks beat SP and the existence of double rainbow would help defeat gyarados

Double Rainbow would make LostGar too good.

Really good point. Scramble Energy would make LostGar really good too, though it could easily be played around (plenty of cards/options to get Pokemon out of your hand). Hmm, maybe they could do reprints with an alternate wording stating "Ignore the effect of this card if your opponent has any Pokemon in their Lost Zone." Or something like that...

They need to take things back to '06. Best format EVER! LBS, Polistall (<3), Metanite, and there are a TON more that I can't remember. Also, deltas!! Delta really, REALLY needs to be brought back in a couple of years. Such fun. Plus the type variety was really cool. EX's in general need to make their return. The game was a little stale with MD-CoL, but MD-BW's metagame is blander than a salt cracker. Sabledonk, and sabledonk counters... yeah. (HGSS on would help that a LOT though). And I completely agree with the stadiums thing. We need more asap! There aren't really any usable ones besides ruins of alph. Also tools (coughatm'scough)need to make a return. It would really balance things out a bit. Primes, LEGENDS, X's were all cool and everything, but how can you beat the epicness that is EX's and *'s? Oh yeah, DELTA EX's and *'s!

Also tools (coughatm'scough)need to make a return.

Trainer:Tool ATM

Once during your turn, before you attack, withdraw $20.

Also, tools are coming back in Red Collection, it's been confirmed. All we know so far is Rocky Helmet, though.
