We're sitting here in Warsaw, VA just waiting to be ROLLED OVER by Hurricane Irene.

Has anyone sat through it yet? Do you still have power and internet access to read this question?

Dude, good luck through the hurricane. I'm sitting here near DC waiting for the hurricane, but it won't be nearly as bad Warsaw. Hopes that everything will be OK.

It shouldn't reach you for a while, R_A. My local news is reporting that by 2 A.M. it should be a Category 1, and if it keeps slowing down at that rate, I imagine it will have dissipated quite a bit by the time its in your area. Hopefully it won't cause you and your family any issues.
 
well im in Wilmington NC and it just made land fall and its rather boring, its just lots of rain, its waist high where i am and if you like to surf there's some 30 foot waves thats about it though
 
I was on a conference call with VA elected officials yesterday at noon.

The Governor was all "THIS WILL BE WORSE THAN ISABELLA" and that freaked me out man!

Isabella ROckeD the Northern Neck and he said that his people told him it would be WORSE?

I'm sitting here following the 24 hour covereage on DirectTV (which I wasn't even aware existed!).

Sitting in allentown PA up here. We have severe weather warnings as well, but it looks like we'll get the leftovers. Good luck pokebros/girls

Someone was telling me about their Floridian relatives who laugh at them when they worry about Category 2 hurricanes.

Apparently, you guys take on Category 4s and 5s all of the time in Florida!

I'm beginning to feel as if Virginia is the land of paranoia!

NY & PA laughs at us for cancelling school due to snow (that's less than 8 inches)
FL laughs at us for cancelling schools and businesses for Tropical Storms and Cat 1-2 hurricanes.
CA & AZ laughs at us for calling any week with more than 4 days of 100 degree weather a "heatwave."
and MD just... laughs at us :lol:

HOWEVER ... at least we stayed open during the earthquake! :tongue:
