Alright so I've been going back and forth on the Thunderdome Eelzone deck and Zeels, and thus far the Eelzone strategy seems to move faster for me from how I have my deck set up, and also the cards I currently have on me. Please tell me what I can add/take out to be prepared for states next weekend.

Pokemon: 16
2-1-2 Magnezone
3-3 Eelektrik
2 Thundurus
1 Cleffa
1 Zekrom EX
1 Zekrom

Trainers: 30
2 Rare Candy
1 Rocky Helmet
1 Pokemon Collector
1 Cilan
2 Eviolite
3 PONT
1 Heavy Ball
3 Sage's Training
2 Great Ball
2 Switch
1 N
2 Pokemon Communication
2 Junk Arm
1 Engineer's Adjustments
1 Professor Juniper
2 Level Ball
1 Pokemon Reversal (don't have the funds for a Catcher)
1 Super Rod
1 Pokegear 3.0

Energy: 14
12 Lightning Energy
2 DCE

The main strategy for this deck is to get set up fast and to get KO's with the Zekrom's and Magnezone's as backup. Overall, I can typically run through my entire deck in 4-5 turns if I'm lucky with all of the draw power in it.

Ok, bit of room for help here. Big question is, do you have or can you borrow, more collectors and maybe borrow 1-2 catchers?
Knowing those would help me help you.

Helping decks like this are really difficult, because it's hard to tell if you are on a budget, or if you don't have a lot of experience deck building. First, you are going to need 4 pokemon collector, especially for this deck. It is the best and most reliable way to get out basics to start evolving. At a minimum, I'd suggest adding 1 more rare candy and 1 more magnemite, and 1 more magnezone would be ideal. Junk Arm is the best card in Magnezone, and I'd suggest playing 4.

These are your draw supporters:
1 N
3 PONT
3 Sage's Training
1 Engineer's Adjustments
1 Professor Juniper
+1 pokegear

See how inconsistent that can be? Most Magnezone lists have something like this:
4 N
4 Sage's Training
+1 pokegear

N is incredible and the biggest reason to play it over big basics/eels.

In the same vein, here's your search:
1 Collector
1 Heavy Ball
2 Great Ball
2 Pokemon Communication
2 Level Ball

When most lists have:
4 Collector
4 Communication

Great ball is awful, that should be taken out immediately. Besides that, the latter list will be much more consistent, because, together, it can get out all the pokemon you'll need.

Trainers I didn't mention:
2 Junk Arm
1 Cilan
2 Eviolite
1 Rocky Helmet
2 Switch
1 Pokemon Reversal
1 Super Rod

When most lists have:
4 Junk Arm
2 Catcher
2 Switch
1 Super Rod

Obviously Catcher is better, but if you don't have it, don't sweat it. That's not too big of a deal. The other random stuff in the list probably aren't that important though. Especially Cilan.

The reason I made this is because if seems like you didn't start with a basic list when you made this. Obviously, you don't have to take all of the advice to do well, but it seems like you could use a little consolidating. Anyway, good luck at states!

I'm on a budget to where I cannot afford $8 per card is what I meant (i.e: Pokemon Collector and Catcher), otherwise I'd definitely run them. I do have 4 Pokemon Reversal's if that's any consolidation to use instead of the Great Balls or something else, and also 1 more Rare Candy and 1 more Junk Arm I can use. I luckily have another Magnezone as well, so if you can help me out with those cards I listed, that would definitely help.

Cool , thats exactly what I needed:smile:

Here goes

Pokemon: 18
3-1-3 Magnezone
3-3 Eelektrik( 2 free retreat, 1 40hp)
2 Thundurus
1 Cleffa
1 Zekrom EX
1 Zekrom

Trainers: 28
3 Rare Candy
1 Pokemon Collector
3 PONT
3 Sage's Training
2 Great Ball -------take one out for each collector
2 Switch
3 N
4 Pokemon Communication
3 Junk Arm
1 Professor Juniper
1 Super Rod
2 Pokegear 3.0 ---- take one out only if you get a fourth collector

Energy: 14
11 Lightning Energy
2 DCE
1 rescue

this pokemon line is just about spot on without access to mewtwo. All the changes I made are either with cards you said you had, or cards that are no more than $1(maybe $2 for gear) The extra gear is so you can try to dig for your diminished supporters. Also, with less collectors, I opted to remove the level and heavy ball cards for more communication and the extra junk arm. I've done the best I could with what you described, so hope it fares better for you. No more collectors is gonna hurt you more than no catchers does. I suggest trying to borrow a set or offering to overtrade for one or two if that is possible. I've listed the cuts you'd make to fit them in as well. Catcher is less important, so I didn't bother.

Good luck at states!
