Timid Nature

Inevitable

New Member
What stat does Timid Nature raise or lower? or is it neutral. (this is for a Charmander if it makes a difference on the Poke with the nature).

Also, from http://www.gamefaqs.com/portable/gbadvance/file/921905/43818 :

(Natures are also called Personalities. Nature is the more correct term
though.)

Natures are those little 'Brave', 'Modest', 'Jolly' at the bottom of
your pokemon's description, in that little box called 'Trainer Memo'.
If you ever wondered if they mattered, well... they do.

A nature raises one stat to 110% and lowers another stat to 90%. Simple
as that. Natures can't affect HP though. Aside from HP, there is one
and only one nature for any given Raise/Lower combo, and five neutral
natures. For example, Adamant raises Attack and lowers Sp.Atk. Here's
a list of natures. It may seem intimidating at first, but you'll
eventually memorize it, everyone does :)

------------------------------------------------------
Nature | What it does
------------------------------------------------------
Lonely | +Attack -Defense
Brave | +Attack -Speed
Adamant| +Attack -Sp.Atk
Naughty| +Attack -Sp.Def
------------------------------------------------------
Bold | -Attack +Defense
Relaxed| +Defense -Speed
Impish | +Defense -Sp.Atk
Lax | +Defense -Sp.Def
------------------------------------------------------
Timid | -Attack +Speed
Hasty | -Defense +Speed
Jolly | +Speed -Sp.Atk
Naive | +Speed -Sp.Def
------------------------------------------------------
Modest | -Attack +Sp.Atk
Mild | -Defense +Sp.Atk
Quiet | -Speed +Sp.Atk
Rash | +Sp.Atk -Sp.Def
------------------------------------------------------
Calm | -Attack +Sp.Def
Gentle | -Defense +Sp.Def
Sassy | -Speed +Sp.Def
Careful| -Sp.Atk +Sp.Def
------------------------------------------------------
Quirky |
Hardy | These don't do anything!
Serious| They're called neutral natures.
Bashful| Only a few pokemon can use these well.
Docile |
------------------------------------------------------

So hey, that's it. Just remember that a +Nature equals 110% and a -Nature
equals 90%, and you'll be fine.

Ya, I know what natures are =P was just wondering what some were. Thanks for the big list, will help a lot. The Timid charmander I have is Shiny, and I plan on using it, it's not HORRIBLE, i'll just train it more on Sp. attk and Attack, as it's speed is already higher then normal due to timid then.

The 5 'neutral' natures increase the same stat tehy decrease - causing no effect, but they are not necessarily 5 separate natures to the rest. On the table above, you can see for each row of increasing a stat, there are 5 natures fro decreasing another stat. The diagonals are the 'neutral' natures. Basically, it's the same as how you listed them but for the logic rather than what they actually do (it makes sense it separate them but if you group them by "natures that increase attack, you get one neutral and 4 non-neutral, even though it ends up neutral).

I wouldn't advise that nature for a Charmander BTW.

Why not? I advise that nature for a Charmander...

Charmander with Timid nature is a good nature. If you have a -Sp. Atk nature and +Attack nature. It's Special Attack rises over it's Attack. Even if the IV's are better for attack and worse for Sp. Attack. Make your Charizard/Charmander/Charmeleon a Special Sweeper. Teach it all Special attack type moves. EV train it in anything/everything but regular attack. JMO.

So its special sweeping moves consist of:

Air Slash
Flamethrower
Solarbeam
Focus Blast
Dragon Pulse
Ancientpower

Focus Blast is inaccurate, while solarbeam is too predictable. That does leave some nice possibilities for choice specs or scarf sets, but his special attack is only marginally better.

Charizard gets some deadly egg moves for physical however, belly drum, dragon dance and swords dance are all great setup options.Outrage/dragon claw, crunch, earthquake, focus punch, fire punch and flare blitz are great sweeping attacks to use afterwards.
