Week 1: VA States. Sorry about the late report... :O
I woke up at 5:00 am and waited about an 30 minutes for my ride to show up at my house. Got picked up around 6:15 am. Mickey said he was late because the other people who he was also suppose to pick up were running late, so he didn't pick them up since they couldn't show up on time. So it was Mickey (driving), Michael and me in the car for a 2 and 1/2 hour drive to Sandston, Virginia from Maryland. We talked about the metagame, played a whole bunch of Mario Kart on the 3DS, and ate snacks in the car. We got to the Holiday Inn around 8:30 am. There were two Holiday Inn's, one regular one and one Express. So we tried the regular Holiday Inn first and luckily the tournament was held there, or we would have to walk to the Express. The tournament was held in a big conference room. I met up with Kevin, Jordan, Sam and Dylan. They had a vendor there, so I went to look at the singles binders and bought two packs. I was playtesting out Zekrom/Eels against Dylan and Sam. And it turns out I was running it wrong... I took out Sage's and Pokemon Collector and maxed out PONT, Juniper and Dual Ball and added N. Then I registered, which apparently there wasn't a line for registeration. So that went by fast. Yep I decided to go with Zekrom/ Eels. Then Gliscor and Glaceon showed up and were fixing up their lists. Gliscor was panicking for cards for his Mew scrub rogue deck. Which was a really interesting deck.
They put the roster up and then everyone had to sit at a table according to the number on the roster. The seating was so crowded and squashing and close to each other... Basically the higher numbered tables had less room for moving space and the lower numbered tables had more room between the seats.... Judges passed out the promo cards and dices to everyone and said lunch was at 12:30pm. There were 93 Masters and 7 rounds. Then Round 1 pairings were up!
Round 1: SWD (me) Zek/Eels vs. Stephen (Donphan/Zoroark/Reuniclus)
I'm sitting between two people who are squashing me to death and I don't have elbow space or room for my playmat. So, me being a twig gave me advantage of being able to move my arms around a little better than my opponent. I start out with a lone Cleffa and he starts out with a Phanpy and he goes first. I knew I was about to be donked, but he only put a Rainbow energy on to Phanpy and no Pluspower and used Flail, which did 20 damage to my Cleffa. I top deck a Dual Ball and flip one heads and get a Mewtwo EX. Attached a DCE to Mewtwo EX. Then used PONT and benched two Tynamo. KOed his Phanpy with Mewtwo. Then he sends up a Zorua and attaches DCE and evolves to Zoroark and benchs a Solosis. He foul plays my Mewtwo for 120 damage. I attach another DCE to my Mewtwo and KO his Zoroark. He sends Solosis and has no bench and can't do anything and passes. I KO his Solosis and win. (1-0)

Round 2: SWD (Zek/Eels) (1-0) vs. PokeMom (Gothitelle/Mewtwo EX) (1-0)
I start out with Thundurus and she starts out with two Gothirita. I go first and attach lightning energy to Thundurus. Use Pokemon Collector for another Thundurus and two Tynamo. Then I use Charge. She goes and uses Pokemon Communication for a Mewtwo EX and benches it and attaches psychic energy to Gothirita and makes my Thundurus go to Sleep. I flip tails on sleep. I go and evolve one of my Tynamo and I use Switch on Thundurus and then bring it back up and use Disaster Volt for the knock out. She sends up the other Gothirita and evolves it and ends up discarding one of my energy on Thundurus. I use Dynamotor on to my other Thundurus and then I use Shaymin to put the energy on to Thundurus. And I use Disaster Volt again for another knock out. She sends up Mewtwo and has no bench and does X-Ball for 80 damage on Thundurus. She doesn't take any prizes. I bench my Mewtwo EX and get the pluspower and knock out her Mewtwo EX for the win. (2-0)
After I saw Curran Hill playing his crazy Terrakion deck against his opponent who was running Zek/Eels, he was killing that Zek/Eels deck.
Yay lunch time! I get in line with Dylan and Nick for lunch at the hotel, while the others went to Chick Fil. I bought a hot dog, fries and cookies for $4.00. After lunch Gliscor and I had practice battles. He kept wanting to go first and said he wouldn't win on the need for T1 See off to beat my Zek/Eels. I won about 5 of the practice battles and he won three of them. Then we bought some packs from Kevin and Michael pulls the Regigigas EX.
Round 3: Vs. Nicholas Kirkpatrick with (Yanmega/Weavile/Scizor Prime) 2-0
I get a pretty decent hand. I start out with Thundurus and he starts out with Scyther. He goes first and uses a Collector for Sneasel, Scyther and Yanma and benches Sneasel and Scyther. He attaches Special Metal two active and passes. I attach a lightning to Thundurus and use PONT. I draw into the same hand but with a Professor Juniper added in. I use Charge. And I had one Tynamo and a Thundurus benched before. He evolves Scyther and uses Weavile to get rid of my Juniper. He KOs my Thundurus and I bring up Tynamo and use another PONT and draw into nothing useful. He starts to KO off stuff and I can't make a come back. (2-1)
Round 4: Vs. William with Lucario/Machamp (2-1)
I start with Thundurus and I had DCE and pluspower in my hand and a Dual ball. He starts with a lone Riolu. I go first and flip one heads on Dual Ball and get Mewtwo Ex. Attach DCE to Mewtwo and play pluspower. I use N to try to get the Switch but I fail to get it. He goes and can't do anything and passes. I attach energy to active and retreat and KO Riolu with Mewtwo EX. He tells me after that when I used N it got rid of his three Collector he had in his hand. After we play a fun match and I win that one too.
Round 5: Vs. Ryan Webb with Zek/Eels (3-1)
We both start with Thundurus. He goes first and uses Level Ball twice for two Tynamo, then uses Charge. This is where I start to mimic his moves. I get Pokemon Collector and bench three Tynamo also. And put a Thundurus in my hand. After I attach energy and uses Charge. He goes attaches energy and Catchers my Tynamo. He evolves both of his Tynamo into Eels. He KOs Tynamo. I go and evolve both of my Tynamo and send out my Thundurus and attach energy. I pluspower and catcher one of his Eels. I bench a Zekrom and a energy on to it with a Dynamotor. I KO his Eel. He then benches a Zekrom and piles one energy on to it. Then uses Disaster Volt on my Thundurus. I go and Catcher his other Eel and use another Pluspower to KO it. He brings up Thundurus and Catchers my Shaymin and KOs it. I bring up my Thundurus and use Disaster Volt on his Thundurus. He Junipers, but doesn't do much after. I set up a Zekrom and KO his Thundurus. Then he sends up a Mewtwo EX and uses X-Ball for the KO. I have two prizes and he has 3 left. I bring up Mewtwo EX and use Pluspower for the win. (4-1)
My dad shows up after tennis, driving for two hours to VA as my ride back home.
Round 6: Vs. My Friend, Rahul Reddy with Zek/Eels (4-1)
I start with Thundurus and he starts with Mewtwo EX. He goes first and basically KOs my Tynamo with a Catcher. After that he outsped me with his set up. He has two prizes left and I have three. He sets up a Mewtwo with a lot of energy on it and mistakenly thinks his Mewtwo is a RDL (wanting to take two prizes with one KO) when he kills my Zekrom. Huge misplay for him, but I knew he had another Mewtwo left in his deck. So I send up my Mewtwo EX and KO his for two prizes, but he able to return the KO by dropping another Mewtwo EX and Junipering into Pluspower. Making me lose the game. (4-2)
I need one more game to make Top Cut and I look at the other 4-2 people and they are all really good players.
Round 7: Vs. another friend Kevin Wong with Zek/Eels/Pachirisu/Shaymin (4-2)
This battle took a lot of brain power out of me.... He starts Pachirisu and I start with Mewtwo EX. I go first and and use Dual Ball and get one Tynamo and bench it. Then I use PONT for trying to get 2 Pluspower. But I fail to get them. So I used X-Ball for 40 damage on Pachirisu. He goes and uses Collector and gets Pachrisu and a Smeargle and one Tynamo benches all of them. Then he tells me that he thinks I have an N in my hand, which I don't. So he passes because he didn't get the Switch. I go evolve my Tynamo into Eel. Then PONT, bench another Tynamo and a Thundurus. I attach an energy to Thundurus and KO Pachi with Mewtwo. He brings up Smeargle and then uses it's power and I had N and Juniper in my hand. He didn't like either of them. So he went with N. After he sets up a Mewtwo Ex and KOs my Mewtwo. I bring up Thundurus and use Juniper. I use Disaster Volt on his Smeargle after Catchering it. He goes and benchs Zekrom and makes a crucial misplay of Dynamotoring to Zekrom and not to Mewtwo Ex, which his Mewtwo only had one energy on it after him retreating it earlier. He attaches Eviolite and lightning energy on to the Zekrom and uses Outrage for 20 damage on my Eel that he Catchered. I use Switch to my Mewtwo Ex, which has 2 Energy on it from Dynamotor. I then attach a DCE and Catcher his Mewtwo EX. I Juniper and get a Pluspower for the win. GG

Jordan and I make top cut. Dylan lost his last round to mirror match of Zek/Eels, not making the top 16 cut. My standing was 12th place and Jordan's was 2nd place and Rahul made it in.
So, the top 16 had the option of ordering dinner from the hotel. At first I thought it was free, then I asked again and they said it wasn't. So, my dad went to get Arby's for dinner. And I waited around for top 16 to begin.

SWD (Zek/Eels) 5-2 vs. LJ Wenger (Zek/Eels) 6-1
Game 1:
I start with Thundurus and he starts with Thundurus. He goes first and gets two Tynamo out and benches them and uses Charge. I go and use Collector get out 2 Tynamo and another Thundurus. After he goes and KOs one of my Tynamos with his Thundurus and a Catcher. I go and get Mewtwo Ex and play it and attach DCE and Dynamotor and pluspower for a KO on Thundurus. After that he basically out speeds me and KOs the rest of my pokemon and I couldn't take the last two prizes.
SWD (0-1) - LJ (1-0)
Game 2:
I decide to go first and start with Thundurus and a benched Tynamo. I Dual Ball and flip tails. Then Junk Arm get Dual Ball back and flip again Tails! He was like, you can't flip a heads for life. After I PONT, attach an energy to Thundurus and use Charge. He goes and plays to Tynamo on bench. Uses Charge also. Next turn I Catcher one of his Tynamo and KO it with Thundurus. He returns the KO next turn. I Catcher his Eel and play down Pluspower to KO his last Eel on bench. He then brings up Tyrogue and stalls with it, flipping tails on sleep. I use N and basically the rest of the game he can't do much without enough energy acceleration of Dynamotor.
Me (1-1) - LJ (1-1)
Game 3:
We both get slow starts. He starts a little faster being able to take two prizes with his Mewtwo EX on two of my Tynamos. I'm able to KO his Mewtwo EX next turn and draw into a Juniper from prizes I took. I forgot about the middle part, but it basically came down to me KOin his Mewtwo EX with my Mewtwo EX have two lightning energy from double Dynamotor and then I top deck a DCE and attach it to KO his Mewtwo EX for the last prize.
I'm pretty shocked I made it to Top 8 because my deck usually starts to have bad draws, after so many games. Well Top 8 is where that begins and I have to face my friend, Rahul Reddy.

SWD (Zek/Eels) vs Rahul Reddy (Zek/Eels)
Game 1:
We definitely joking around at the beginning of this round, making each other laugh with funny jokes. Rahul's special key to winning = the ultimate distraction of jokes. Anyways, he mulligans 6 times from my special deck cuts. hahaha I had way too many supporters in my hand one Dual Ball. You would think I would have a good start, which I thought I did. So I go second with Zekrom start and use PONT or N, and draw into energy and Super Rod.... Yep my deck slows down in Top 8 and I can't really draw into anything and he gets set up pretty fast and out speeds me. He wins that game.
SWD (0-1) vs. Rahul (1-0)
Game 2:
I get a crappy start and he basically outspeeds me and sets up very fast. By time I was able to set up, he was already up four prizes and I had six still. So, I just took two prizes off his Mewtwo EX with my Mewtwo EX and a Catcher. Then he was able to return the KO with his other Mewtwo EX for his win.
SWD (0-2) vs. Rahul (2-0)
Great games with everyone! Ended up in 7th place, not bad. lol So I went to get my 9 packs from David. And said good luck to Rahul for his next games. Then I went back to eating my Arby's dinner and opened my packs. I pulled full art Reshiram EX and reverse holo Zapdos!

Yep my deck slows down in Top 8 and I can't really draw into anything and he gets set up pretty fast and out speeds me. He wins that game.

Game 2:
I get a crappy start and he basically outspeeds me and sets up very fast. By time I was able to set up, he was already up four prizes and I had six still. So, I just took two prizes off his Mewtwo EX with my Mewtwo EX and a Catcher. Then he was able to return the KO with his other Mewtwo EX for his win.

Great games with everyone! Ended up in 7th place, not bad. lol So I went to get my 9 packs from David. And said good luck to Rahul for his next games. Then I went back to eating my Arby's dinner and opened my packs. I pulled full art Reshiram EX and reverse holo Zapdos!
