Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Tough Choice

i would say it depends on your meta. Ambipom is usually more useful, but against sp Dragonite can really tear them a new one with an 80 damage donk. I would try dragonite to see how it goes

-.-.... I love how one player, uses a certain card and everybody want's to use it. I saw at most 5 thread's that said "Dragonite FB was a great tech". Now it's the best tech in the format.

Ive always used one if it means anything. But yeah thats what happens when people gather.. just like lux and honchkrow SV

You know, I started using this a while ago (well, all the guys that played hope used this) and I have to say, it is a nice tech. it is easier to counter than ambipom, though it is much more flexible. I'd go with dragonite (cuz i don't have an ambipom and that's the only one i could use LOL)

Both of the cards are excellent and I used Dragonite in my Scizor/Cherrim deck a while ago. Ambipom can really annoy with Tail Code and then Tail snap can easily destroy a Garchomp with less energy than Dragonite. Personally I would say Dragonite because you do not have to do any energy moving shananagin (Sp?) to do any damage but Ambipom is more universal. It all depends on what you like, but I would go with Dragonite because it is a huge help against any SP and ITS A DRAGON!

Ambipom is more useful overall. He helps a lot with a bunch of matchups, including low-Energy decks in this format, without Claydol/Roseanne to draw more Energy more consistently. Also, he hits the donk much more, with T1 DCE meaning game against a lone 60 HP card. Also, you can attach Unown (Q) to get him in and out for free, which is always a nice bonus.

Dragonite is ONLY a Garchomp counter, and really doesn't perform any other function well. Also, you gotta Turn him/Warp him out if he doesn't die next turn. However, that aside, he is a reliable Chomp counter. More reliable than Ambipom in that respect.

That is wrong since he can one hit alot of things and not just Garchomp.

Well, let's look at them both.

Ambipom can disrupt by moving an Energy Card and slow down that possible DCE Drop to give a 3 nrg attacker opportunity for a Gain or one nrg. The second attack can do 60 if there is no nrg but 20 if there is. Turn 1 you can deliver that 60 and Donk most basics.. most.

Dragonite can definitely hit SP cards heavy, but anything else it is lack luster as it only does 20. Also, 3 nrg to attack makes it difficult to get going early on. Giant Tail is a game changer and you do have a 50% chance of hitting, but for the nrg cost it is very tricky!

Both can be Turned so getting it out of the Active is not hard. However, Pom can be Q'd giving it free retreat and saving the Turn!

Draggy is nice, but IMHO Pom still outshines it in many decks!

I'd definately go with Ambipom, as he can donk, and Tail Code helps tremendously in low energy decks. Plus he has a way lower retreat cost.

Ambipom can donk, and seriously annoy with Tail Code. Plus, only a DCE is required, whereas Dragonite takes a DCE and an E-Gain.

However, Dragonite has more HP. But... I'd go with Ambipom.

they both have their pros and cons. Ambipom g has 20 less health and can be one shotted by a garchomp c if benched. dragonite takes two crobat drops to do that. dragonites first attack can also ko a lot of non lvl x sps like blaziken infernape and luxray. but ambipom g can donk, attacks for just a dce and his first attack can be a huge annoyance. it really depends on the deck and on your play style

It depends on what you want to do w/ it, what your meta is like, and what your list is like.

Overall I think Pom is better, but play both if you have the room.

Tail Code wins games. All of the games. All of them.

I agree with kenny, run both if you can but I would give priority to Ambipom.
