toxicroak/skuntank g

just a quick question.

i see people bring up this combo about poisoning toxicroak g with skuntank g, then using toxicroaks attack, but skuntank g's effect says that it excludes sp pokemon, so it wouldnt poison toxicroak in the first place.

is this just a big oversight or what?

You don't poison Toxicroak, you poison the defending Pokemon so that his attack does 40 more damage.

you use skuntanks power to poison your opponents active. then use toxicroak to attack, and deep poison will get the damage boost when the defending is poisoned.
