Translations for reprints?

My grandma, who saw my Facebook status asking if anybody had any Double Colorless Energy from their old cards, thought it would be cute to get me some for my birthday, but they're in Japanese.

What is the rule for providing translations for reprints? Would I provide the old Double Colorless energy/Base set card dex since it has the same art? Or the newest print as a translation?

Also applies to Warp Point, Switch, Poke Ball, etc.

You're mentioning two different cases but only asking about one.

You must have a correct local language version or an official Cardex prinout as a reference for cards that need translation.

Reprints only need a correct local language version or official Cardex printout as a reference if the text on the older card differs significantly from that of the most recent printing.

How do you know if you need a reference for a reprint? I recommend you refer to the modified legal cards list on pokemon.com, or the up-to-date community maintained list that Pokepop edits, here on the PokeGym:
