trimming mp3s

how do you trim an mp3 file to leave only the part you want?

In iTuenes you can right click and select Get Info and you can edit all sorts of things. I know there is an option to make it start at a certain amount of seconds and end at a certain amount of seconds. Hope that helps.

itunes doesnt actually trim the mp3, it just it to play from a specific time and stop at a specific time. it doesnt alter the file size

MPTrim is what I use. lets you remove silence (or more) from the beginning and end with aclick of abutton.

There are a couple of tracks that I've got where I just want to get rid of some silence in the middle of the track. I'm talking about 3 minutes of nothing right in the middle of the track. Yes, I turned the volume to max on every music playing device I own. It's one of the songs from Matchbox 20's first two albums, but damn if I can't remember which one it is...
