Troll and Toad Declining in Customer Service

So, a couple of weeks ago I sent some cards to T&T which they received on the 24th of last month. It's now April 5th and I have as of yet not received the $120 they owe. That means they've been sitting on my cards, and I'm sure selling them without ever paying for the product. I call customer service and get the run around. Apparently, even though their website says you can get help any time between 9am and 5pm Eastern time, most of the time if you call after noon there is nobody who can help you. I'm posting this as a warning to those thinking of selling to them and to see if anyone else has experienced similar problems lately.

I feel the same way too. Although I haven't sold to them in a while, every time I buy from them there's a problem. I bought reverse holo cards last May and they didn't ship ANY in sleeves. I opened the package and they're all scratched. The second time I order from them I specifically ask for cards to be put in sleeves. I open the package and guess what? Two cards are in a sleeve + toploader, and the rest are sandwiched in between. They were scratched BTW.

tl;dr If you want mint cards you probably shouldn't buy from Troll and Toad.

They also give you warning notices that they're going to refuse service if you complain too much. I had to sent back in order 3 times because they kept giving me the wrong card. I bought a zapdos base shadowless...they gave me a zapdos base unlimited.. I return and then they sent back a zapdos fossil... I returned and they gave me a french zapdos base...I returned and they finally gave me the right card.

I have had increasing problems in both selling to them and buying from them.

I sold them cards and they were "in process" for 2 weeks. For roughly 1 week of that time they suddenly had a restock of the exact same amount of that card that I sent in. I can understand delays but if they have time to inspect and re-list the cards sent, then they have time to issue the payment. It took them a little over 3 weeks to pay for an order they had in 2 days

Recently I bought from them a very large order and several of the cards were obviously no where near what they advertised. I expect this with them sometimes though and asked for a return or partial. They ended up saying that I had a habit of returning cards and that certain options would no longer be available for me. I took offense to this as imo they have the clear record of selling cards below NM. It may be nothing to them, but I have all but completely stopped using them with few exceptions on the buying end.

Ive never dealt with them but I wish I could get away with all that in my private sale business and still have customers lol.

Same thing happens every time I sell to them they get my cards in 3 days or less thy take up to a month to pay when you contact them they do not respond in a timely manner and when they do decide to pay you they send the payment as a normal payment and I get stuck paying 3% to paypal so yeah just sell your cards on ebay its not worth it I might get less money but I will get my money in a timely manor

Yup, that's what happen to me. They gave me a "courtesy notice" stating that service may be refused.

Never have, and never will; sell Pokemon cards to Troll n Toad. Heard too many negative stories regarding them. Also, sending something to someone before receiving payment seems foreign to me. I would rather get 10% less for my card, and have my money before I shipped; than wait on someone to process/inspect/etc before I get paid.

As for buying, only bought a few cards from them before. Most of them were as described, but some where less than desirable condition wise. I also don't approve of how they ship their cards, too easy for them to be damaged during shipping.

Overall, I agree with rusty; and will probably not be buying from them unless absolutely necessary. Not only are they over-priced, but they are less than friendly when it comes to customer service.

You guys want to hear a gem of a story? I shipped them over 100 singles two months ago. They receive and after a while I see that certain cards in the buylist show a quantity of zero. I think ok, they probably think its not mint enough. One of the cards was easily worth like $30. I ask them to mail back the cards they didn't like and they agree. When I get the cards back, guess what? The money card was missing. They claim to never have received it, and I know I sent it. Never selling to them again....

Hrm...

Well know what?
I have a story that is hilarious...

When DRX was coming out, I preordered a bunch of blisters...
Come the day of release, I check the site...
"Sorry unavailable, restock in 2 weeks"
So I was like... hmm they sold out, good thing I preordered...
NOPE. No email saying they sent etc.
So after the 2 weeks, I check again...
"Sorry unvailable, restock in 1 week"
and that went on, I tried calling, emailing etc.

Finally I got someone saying "We don't know but there is a delay from our supplier, here is a $10 gift certificate"

I was like..." Umm money back please?! I haven't touched them (T&T) since....
It was like cat and mouse to get customer service about these blisters...

Then when I tried to use the $10 gift certificate thing, she didn't tell me HOW to use it... (like it wasn't a promo code, just email saying HERE)

Those are some crazy stories. I haven't sold to them in over a year but when I did everything was fine. I also bought a few singles last month and had no issues. Sounds like they are getting much worse though.

While I haven't personally had any problems with T&T (mostly because I don't buy from them much) I do have a story that happened to one of my friends.

It was when Next Destinies was about to come out. And they first put up Mewtwo EX FA for $20 as they usually first do with their EX preorders. My friend took that opertinity to order 8 of them at that price. And as usual they slowly went up every few days (as that site does) until they were somewhere around $100 each.

So the set finally comes out and he gets an email from them with something along these lines. "Thank you for your order of 8 Mewtwo EX FA cards. Unfortunately were were not able to obtain enough of this particular card and will only be sending you 2 of then instead of the requested 8. Sorry for the inconvenience"

Well that makes sense since alot of people ordered that card. Until he looked at their page for it. And guess what? They had at least 20 in stock for $100 each or whatever high price they were going for then. So they outright lied to my friend just because they didn't want to sell him them for only $20 each. And if you look at their ToU it confirms that they don't have to sell you cards at their advertised prices if they don't want to.

Placing an order does not enter into a contract with Troll And Toad until the order is accepted. Troll & Toad may choose to refuse the order, based on lack of inventory, pricing errors, or concerns about payment. Please read the Conditions Of Use for a full explanation of these items.

I ordered a handful of commons from them to fill in some collection holes. I just wanted straightforward NM condition. Nothing more. What I got was three creased cards and all of the rest with edgewear beyond any standard of NM.

lol wow didnt think it was that bad.. only issue ive had was buying a first edition card which i thought was a bargain but sending me a non first edition (listed as unlimited in the item description). i wasnt so sharp with the terminology back then but lesson learned.

I ordered 40 dollars worth of cards from them about 5 weeks ago now, cos I was pleased to see how much cheaper it was than professor oak. Still waiting...

I've heard so many scary stories from TnT. I ordered from them for the first time about 2 months ago. It was a decently priced Raikou star that I'm now considering sending in to PSA. Guess I was one of the luckier ones haha

Lack of care packaging customers purchased goods!

I recently purchased a complete reverse holographic legendary collection from Troll and Toad and I was not very satisfied with unprotected manner that quite an expensive lot of cards had been sent in, no sleeves on any cards and all just in a stack bouncing around inside a small box. :nonono:

More recently though I took the chance to buy a jumbo pokemon card from them and it was sent in the mail inside a soft A3 size paper mailer without any kind of protection (the kind of paper mailer without any bubble wrap padding inside). It was ruined by the time it got to me but there was not another copy available to replace it with so they refunded me after they received the damaged card back.

I do think that they have good items for sale but I also think that they do NOT package their items correctly and because of it you most likely will NOT get your items in the condition they left T & T in. :frown:
