I wouldn't say "WELL" in advance, but a week is a pretty good buffer before the day, I suppose.

DO you think it would be that hard for PokePop to convince Spookees to help him with his plan of deception?

The discussion may have been going on for a good week, but that could have also been when the idea was forged.
All I'm saying is that given PokePop's April 1st history, and how he puts up something big EVERY year from Avatar changes to everyone, to Fake worlds announcements, to Fake gym announcments.

Don't get me wrong, PokePop's a cool guy, but when April 1st comes, he becomes and evil prankster bent on fooling us all!
 
hmmm well you aernt that convincing right now ya he did post this like an hour after midnight lol but still this seem like no laughing matter i mean if this is a joke gj this must have been planned for a while i mean you must have made a fake user put up a post about it then convince spookes and then finally get to the part that it sold and put it up a hour after midnight lol maybe...maybe not ??? well have to find out lol or i can ask trish if this is really true or not i mean they can say april fools now right if it was a joke lol ????...

Once again, EVERY year, Pokepop pulls some big prank on the entire forum.
One year he remeoved everyone's custom Avatars
Another he posted fake rules for Worlds
One time before that I think he Posted something about the Gym changing.

The account Will-iam was made 3-3-09.
The only word we are going off of is Spookees.
The buyer and Seller are anonamyous outside of the SN Will-iam
Will-iam posted on several occasions that no even he knew who the seller was.....
This was posted on April 1st.
Next to the other discussion on this there is a "wink" icon

Really it would not be that hard to put together.

The card is very much a real card, 8-11 of them exist. None of them have ever hit the market or left the hands of the WotC managers who kept them when they did get printed.
The card istelf is real, the situation of it being sold, I am pretty sure is not.

Nice April's Fool joke! But i highly doubt someone would pay so much for a single card!!
And as AbsolTrainer said the card does exist, and it is a very rare card. All that PokePop is true, except for the selling part.
 
Ok, the timing of this announcement is most definately suspect. Had it come out any other time, the evidence would have been sufficient (spookees is a pretty respectable source, after all.) But Absoltrainer is right, Pokepop would organize this for a month as a prank. And Will-i-am did pop up very suddenly, commenting on virtually nothing but the Pre-Release Raichu while on this forum...even before his announced intention to buy it.

Just too pat for an April 1st announcement.:lol:
 
If you tell me this AFTER April Fools day, I'll believe it. (Maybe.) But I'm not going to believe it today. If the guy really did get it, good for him.
 
If this is a prank, it is a good one.

They even sucked me, and a few of the other power collectors in to have private discussions about the card, and the potential seller(s) of which between all of us, I think we only know the owner of 3 of these cards.

Why not put it on e-bay you might ask?

The sale would be public. The tax consequences for the seller would be huge.

With the screen name William...everyone suddenly worries about a "gotcha" type ending with a William Hung joke I am sure.

Too early to tell if they are serious, or if this was just a well designed fake, getting set to Rickroll us all!

Now, I`m pretty new to pokegym and i`m not familiar with pokepop and his pranks....but i`ve followed the thread where Will-Iam announces his plans of buying the card an pokepop`s replies in that thread and it just looks to synchronized to me. A new member suddenly places a thread about buying a card (wich I think is kinda odd, If you have it than post, if not why bother posting) and uses similar language as Pokepop, who also replies in the thread telling people to keep discussing this. Then, on 1st of April a newsthread pops up that says it`s been sold for that unlikely high amount........highly suspicious to me...

But if its ajoke it certainly has been well performed.... next time try to act noobish when you make a fake acount to fool people...:lol:

I just did a search on ebay and nothing comes up. So the poster that said there is currently 1 for sale is incorrect. April Fools!
