Hi all.
Happy new year.

You all have probably heard about the tsunami in the Southeast Asia.
I felt really sorry for the victims.
Then again, felt very thankful that I'm not involved in the killer tidal wave because it hit Malaysia and so many Malaysians are killed.

So, anyone of you given any donations to the victims?
I gave up several clothes to help the victims.
I hope you guys would help the helplesses.

Horrific. There are no words adequate to describe this...:'(

Acheh in Indonesia is the worst affected areas (two disaster at once - earthquake & tsunami) with the highest death toll. Even we Malaysia also lost 60 over lives because of this incident. Imagine thousands of corpses lying there, unidentified, and decomposing, and the rubbles blocking your way.

"The waves were as tall as a coconut tree," is a description of Malaysian survivors. They survived, but they have to start from scratch. The tragedy hit at the wrong time. The schoolchildren? Where are their school fees? They are desperate for help. Please, give your helping hand.

Areas as far as Africa was also affected.

The tsunami tragedy causes the fish and chicken price to rise because part of the supply was cut.

Yeah, ova 130,000 people dead. its sooooooooo sad man. brut its good tat the whole world is helping the countries tat have been hit

Kuala Muda, a fishing village in Kedah (one of the state in West Coast of Peninsula Malaysia) had been affected. Most of the fishing boats there are unlicensed (the fishermen had trouble applying for the license). The affected areas also includes a tourism island at Thailand and Langkawi Island.

Now, the tsunami wiped out their boat. The fishermen could not claim insurance because their boats are unlicensed. It's bad for them. People like them especially need help. I expect that the governments won't negelect the affected fishing villages.....

The tsunami also damages some heritage sites around the Indian Ocean.

I couldnt believe it when I first heard now I know it was horrible what happened and what Im about to say might be childish but Can you imagine surfing that thing? : Drool : Its a surfers dream as long as the wave is like hitting an uninhabiteted island so no one gets hurt but yeah my sympathies go out to them T_T

Tsunami Video's

I know theres already been a post about this. But i would like to show u footage of this diasaster. So if u want click on the link to see them. I think it has all Tsunami Video's. Well if u watch them tell me your thoughts of Tsunami Diasaster. http://www.asiantsunamivideos.com/
IM OUT!

Since there's already a thread discussing the tsunami, I'm going to merge this thread with that one. Please look for any replies there.

I'm not clicking your link though; I really really REALLY don't need to be 'entertained' by seeing people DIE. It's also the reason why I watched as little as possible of the 'news' coverage after the initial story broke; newspaper and radio (NPR) reports were disturbing enough, thank you very much...especially after reading a report of remarks by a "Christian" minister declaring that since the dead were all 'non-believers', 'god let this happen'

This isn't a disaster movie, folks...this is real life. The people who are being swept away, etc. are most likely DEAD...not extras in "Titanic" or somesuch who get to dry themselves off before the next take...

Locking/merging the thread....*click*

JMHO,
'mom

   Darn it, why do you have too show that footage. It's sad, man. I cannot watch people die in a most scary way.
Like PokeMom, I rarely watches the news, because, duh, it's sad to see the people to die.
But trust me, every half an hour, there must be a bulletin about it in on Malaysian telly (even right now).

losing my pokemon cards in some tsunami!?noooooooo. Many of my reletives live near where the tsunami hit.Maybe the disease will get to them...

Some affected countries did not spend their New Year Celebrations and donated some of the money to help out. Many of our fellow citizens had perished and it was terrible.

Mom is right about not watching anymore what happen and I would rather watch how we could work together to rehabilitate and rebuild their lives once more and their sorrows would turn to heavenly smiles. It may take months but a success story will sooncome in.
