Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

UK - City Championship Dates 2007/2008 Season

Thanks Magic Umbreon for a great final!

A great tournament with a brilliant TO as well as great players. I look forward to seeing you all again soon!

BUT (there's always a but) I was very disappointed that the prize support didn't arrive in time for the event. Does Venomex have a reason for this?
Fanboy 3 (the venue) had to cover the prize support with its own stock, which wasn't quite enough for the average city tournament, as well as having no goodie-bag or medal?!?!

I have a funny feeling OP in the UK is going downhill..........or am I wrong? Care to correct me if i am!

wat is happenin to the game these days guys im horrified to see there are no ccs planed in norwich wats going on with this

Congrats Tom on the win!! No grumpigs then?

I'd say that on your OP comments- the problem is the large rut left by certain members of TPFG (one in particular ) that venomex is trying to recover from.

we'll see i guess!

This will be looked into first thing Monday. As far as I am aware, the prize support should have reached them Friday. This should only be a "teething" problem and will not affect any other CC's (Prize support for all CC organized so far wil be sent out over the next two weeks.)

ALSO this does not mean I have completed talking to everyone yet and there are still City Champs to announce, so please, if you wish to run one , or have run one previously and feel I have missed you, please PM me your contact details and you will be contacted this week.

In regards to OP going downhill, you are all aware of the20 city championships arranged/currently being sorted and new league locations, however (what is not widely known) we also have planned mall tour style event across the uk (free of charge), Demo/Tournaments in some of the most famous stores in the country as well as Regionals and other little "surprises" (good ones) we are putting together for the Players/To's, as well as sorting out the long list of problems with the OP......

However, finally, we will be making some form of announcement later this week (Wenesday).

Yep OP must be bad in the UK.....:thumb:

Finally, Leagues. The kits should be shipped over the next two weeks, we are currently working through the lists of leagues we have to work out what is owed, etc.

Awesome, does that include anything on the Nintendo DS? There was an unofficial Diamond/Pearl DS tourney recently at Manchester that got good turnout.

The depth you put into your posts never ceases to amaze me.

Anyhoo, it's about time we got the season started-GL to all.

Whats wrong with one liners. I could go into greater detail when posting but theres rarely the need too. If theres ever any discussion I can legitamitely contribute to, I will. But seeing as I haven't played since worlds and am not a TO, theres not much to say. I return to cards saturday.

Do london have any CC's?

omg absol is 2 gud and shud be banned plz pop tks!

London should have a couple as well as a regional

Ask and you will recieve The London Borough of Bexley is proud to be hosting a CC at Crayford Library Hall on 12 April and the Gamers Guild are pleased to be organising the event and offering you all another chance to play and qualify for the UK Nationals.

Thanks to all who turned up to the Manchester CC this weekend, we had a wicked tourney and look forward to seeing you all agian.

as for the prize support issue, before the current OP regime was installed there was some debate on whether we'd be able to get some level of OP back but without direct booster support. As a result, we decided to err on the side of caution when it came to giving booster prizes. FB3 considered what level of P/S to give out - and whether or not they'd get it back - that morning, and again, they prefered to err on the side of caution given the general lack of official P/S for the last two prereleases, which they funded off their own back.

if what venomex says is true (which i have no reson to disbelieve knowing how postman pat gets his kicks), then the prize support should arrive at the store tomorrow, when it does we will do what we can to get people what would be owing to them at the earliest opportunity.

Thanks once again to everyone who came, and lets hope this is the start good things for the futire of pokemon OP in the UK

Cheers Rod, that's really reassuring. Thanks for an awesome tourney by the way, hopefully see you at a manchester tourney soon - if you'll have me back lol:biggrin:

Blackpool events should be forthcoming. It will be in a new location, and so will league from now on.

Aww, kaworu, I was leaving the field wide open for you! That, and I don't have any SW, so no absollade here (yet).

I'll take some of ape1011's credit for all the tips I've given him on MSN. And these days there's no need to point out that I'm joking :frown:

Sounds like it went well in Manchester, nice one.

yeah Stef, shoulda been there, we had clowns and baloons and spacemen and the president of the united states of america showed up too

he didnt have a legal deck though, unless you count a Y*-**-*h deck.
he tried to play heroclix with it instead and got custard-pied out of the shop by the manchester D&D massive

and the clown.

ps: i'm full of it. we gonna see you at my next CC in march then?

Hope so!

If I'm able, though, I'll be running my events on weeknights. I know its no good for travelling players, but I've tried weekends before and I don't get as many of my locals, so it hurts more than it helps.
