Hot off the press! Results for the Norwich City Championships IIIn the 15+ group Bruce Kelf
In the 11-14 group Matthew Crowe
In the 10- group Joseph Strowger
Another great day's Pokemon gaming was had by all. The competition was fierce with a number of close fought battles and one or two players who surprised me by coming in some of the top places who havn't quite made the mark before!!
In the 15+ group it was the hardest fought group( as you would expect) with Bruce Kelf just taking the honours ahead of Adam Gadir in a final showdown. Both were playing variations on Dk Draggy/ Dk Electrode/ Pidgeot and it was a knock down drag out affair in a very intense match.Coming in third was Tariq Sagiaiar who played a lovely Crobat/Dk Crobat/Cradily deck and only just missed out on the final due to the won/loss percentages.Coming in fourth was Marie Holland who broke through into the top places for the first time and showed her true abilities!
In the 11-14 we had what was arguably the surprise of the day with Matthew Crowe taking the title. Matthew hasn't been a regular player but you wouldn't have known it with the way he battled today and I expect more good things from him in the future! Another dark horse was Jamie White who had his best ever result with a fine second place. A very happy bunny!! Third went to Sean Dawdrey who again was a fairly new player and another I expect to do well in the future. Simon Humphrey came in fourth with his usual good display. The way was left clear today with Stephen Green playing an experimental deck that didn't quite work out and Shaun Banham who wasn't playing as he was trying to be Thierry Henri on the football pitch!!
Another very happy soul was Joseph Strowger. This was his first ever tournament and loved it! He took the 10- group as he was the only player but he probably deserved it as he had a lovely attitude all day!
I'm confidant that my Norwich Battlenet players can make a real impression at the UK nationals. Carrot crunchers are go!!
