Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

UK Nationals 2005...18th June...

it was definately fun meeting a lot of the people on this forum. sceppy, you weren't rude, don't worry. how didi everyone on this forum do, anyways?
I came 7th in 11-14. First Swiss rounds went 4-1 then second swiss rounds went 1-2. :(

Still, great experience. Might see if I can go to one of the other qualifiers like the Stadium or the French Nats. Or there's always the LCQ...

Thanks for a great final Freddy!

I must say that the whole day was supurb (even my sister and wife were impressed!)

I am really excited about going with you guys.... its gonna be a blast.

Now, how should I 'tweak' my deck for August..... ;)

Nationals was a whole lot of fun and I'm proud to have finished 5th place in 15+. Played some great players and went 6-2. Congrats to all the winners and everyone else as well for taking part in such a great event.

DOm missed the cut by the very narrowest of margins too less than 1% on tiebreaker.

Wow I knew it was close and I was the highest of the players not to make the cut but that close... ouch.

bad luck, my friend. you did really well to get things that close though. well done and better luck next year.

Event was superb and I think everyone had a good time.

My fun Exeggutor Deck raised a few smiles, and I'm very happy I managed to make the cut although to be honest I never expected it to win. I am writing a huge featuyre for the next issue of Pokemon World and would like some input of a few others that were there.

If any of you would like to share your thoughts on the day- venue, lunch, fair play, prizes, players or amusing moments. Please post here or PM me and I'll publish in the next issue of Pokemon World.

I hope a few of you would like to share your thoughts on the day and if you email me a picture I will place it with your words of wisdom.

Any takers

my memorable moments of nats?

a)meeting fellow Gym/Underground members (sceppy, afirule, Edderz, arctic_frost + more)
b)11-14 finals - Nic F vs. Yacine S...truly amazing.
c)the amazing mascots (Andy's Beaker of Doom and my Mickey Mouse  )
d)getting 2 EXs in 2 consecutive boosters.

Nicholas is over the moon. Having only just turned 11. undefeated all day. I didn't dare watch. Someone tell me what happened.

As to quotes how about a song.. 'Leaving on a jet plane.....'
or slightly more cryptic 'Thanks Whicker'

Very nice venue. Jane spoke to many other parents and all were impressed. It could be Woburn again next year.

Rainbowgym: Battle frontier was played , I have no idea how many stadium cards were in Chris's birds deck. Seemed like every other card!

15+ 48 players not sure about the other two age groups.

Ian, you did a great job of judging 15+, btw. Big props to you and the other judges.

Didn't see much of game 1, but saw the start and saw the end of game 2 (last game). I think it eventually came down to a Rocket's Sneasel ex attack that did the damage to Yacine, someone who watched all of it correct me if I'm wrong.

I played Nicholas in Round 6 and he was absolutely amazing. The Rocket's Sneasel ex and Scyther really boosted his power. He hurt my birds a little with Desert Ruins as well, but it was the Sneasel that did the real damage.

Oh, one thing to point out. He wasn't undefeated all day, but he only lost one game in the T4; against Shaun, I think...But he still won the other 2 games so it does count as an undefeated match record.

Guess you're off to Worlds too as a "legal guardian"/player, I assume?

Nigel (Edderz) did great on the 15+ too.

But mostly it was down to the players : by playing nice it makes the judges task much easier. So thanks guys and girls for easing the judge task. We were spread very thin on Saturday.

Can I ask, what happens next about this trip?

I ask because my sister and nephew would like to come with me!

Do you guys know exact information? eg departure date/ return date etc? Or if not, when you ahve heard we will get concrete info... isnt long really is it...?!

I am sorry if it has already been said, i havent sifted through all these pages.

Also, I have just realised I have got to upgrade my passport for USA... eek, didnt realise.

I am looking forward to going to worlds with such a great bunch of players :)
