Uncommon Decks

Are there any decks that can compete that have no rares? I recall having a LunaSol deck that rocked years ago that didn't have any rare or promo cards, but was wondering if there was anything in the current format that springs to mind. It will be interesting to see what we can come up with.

This would be extremely difficult to pull off. But if you are looking for a cheap deck to build something umbreon isn't that expensive.

Beedrill G isn't too expensive either. Is it any good? Not really. But there is an article about it!

There was an article on turbo claydol too. That was pretty good. :p /sarcasm
Try steelix gl Honchkrow g with crobat gs. Basically the strategy would be to tank with steelix and snipe with Honchkrow for prizes. Garchomp C X's are promos so they're easier to obtain unless you really want no rares at all.
Now can it compete? If you want impressive results like at a tournament, I'm sorry but I can't really help you there.

I had a mothim deck that dished out 110 damage by Turn 1 or 2, It was really consistent and had only 3 rare, 2 Uxie promo, 1 mothim Arceus

Sableye is close - you need Garchomp C Lv. X (which is very cheap) and Uxie LA (which is rare, but also very expensive).

The only decent draw in the format is a rare, so you will have a really hard time.

Stormfront Bibarel comes to mind. Not immediately sure what would combo well with it and still be uncommon/common. HS Blissey? Dragonite FB? LA Tentacruel?

Might not fill your criteria of competing in the format. If you want cards that can easily be found, a AR Charizard deck might be up your alley; 1-1-1 line comes displayed with certain varieties of boosters.

I played Masquerain SV/Cherrim SF for a while. You need speed (BTS, Uxie draw) and extra damage (Belts, PlusPowers) and it worked pretty well, you could donk.

Cubone tank with sableye and junk arm/volkners using stuff like unown r (retire) to draw quickly then use sableye to discard with volkners

never tried it but it sounds fun!

every deck should be using uxie right now so unless you were alright with not having uxie (or azelf)...

Hey, you could do TurnCruel....

Starmie LA attacking with Starmie RR/Engineer's adjustments engine. :thumb:

Send out a Starmie to star boomerang w/ belt, return it to hand and send up a new one. I used this in a 30 card tournament and did pretty well. Probably not competitive at all with that Luxray GL guy lurking about the format, but it's an idea.
