Unknown G (GE) & Cessation Crystal

The set up:
My opponent has a pokemon with Unknown (G) attached. During my next turn I attach a Cessation
Crystal to my active pokemon.

Questions:
1. Will the Cessation Crystal stop Unknown (G)'s poke-power?
2. If so what would happen to Unknown (G)?

After that, it is a tool and behaves just as any other tool would.
