Unkown G

Hey I had a question about Unkown G. If Unknown G is out in play and my leafeons attack does 30 damage and they are now asleep does the effect of the attack get negated because of unknown g but the damage stays or does the damage get negated too and the attack fails?

Damage is not blocked by Unown G.
So the damage is still done.
