Ursaring Prime Deck

I think Ursaring and Donphan Primes work really well together. Maybe you could encorporate that into your deck somehow? And if you do, maybe a Rising Rivals Flygon might be useful too. Oh and Uxies as well for draw power because you don't have the Ninetales anymore.

Though I guess it's all about preference. It might also be nice to put in some BlastGatr/Donphan Prime counters, one of these would be Flygon, and the other of which could be Donphan with it's Exo-Skeleton.

Hope this helps!

After doing some redshark battles I realized that typhlosion takes too long to set up and the exploud line just ruins the overall speed for the deck. Apart from slowking as a tech, does anyone have any other ideas that would serve as a second attacker?

x2 Fighting weakness means you have to watch out for Machamp and Donphan. If you have one damage counter already, Machamp's Take Out attack is 20 short of a OHKO. Maybe they accomplish that, maybe not, but you will likely see a fair amount of Machamp around this year. Donphan on the other hand does OHKO you for a single energy.

So tech in something Psychic to work against Machamp (Uxies and Uxie Lv X should be enough), but you'll need something water to revenge kill a Donphan. Unfortunately there isn't a clear choice for that. Since you run DCE maybe Quagsire GL.

I have a dewgong from supreme victors who can OHKO a donphan for 1 water and 1 colorless energy or I could find a way to increase my exploud's set up on the bench like maybe running a 2-0-2 exploud line?

Yes, Dewgong should work for you since you are running a colorless deck...putting water energy in is no big deal. Or just use a Rainbow.

Also, if you didn't want to run Rainbow for the +1 damage counter, Unown P allows you to Put a damage counter on any of your Pokemon.

If you were in my position would you put in dewgong or exploud? And thanks for the great advice, i'll look into unown p

I think you should go for the dewgong tech. But, before I confirm that, I want to know a bit more about the testing you did. What does your bench space look like mid-early match? also, how fast do you get Ursarang up and running?.

Another donphan tech is Frost Rotom. It may cost :colorless: more than dewgong, but it's a basic so easy pickings. Just puting it out there.

Well by T2 I usually have an Ursaring up and running with a tediursa and cyndaquil/quilava on the bench. It tends to be around 2-3 pokemon for my bench and active slot combined for the early-mid game. The problem I am having is setting up my typhlosion, I wanted him to be a second attacker but it takes too long for him to get himself ready for an attack so I end up using him more for his poke-power. I am uncertain whether I should replace typhlosion for another stage 1 line (I have some scizor prime at my disposal) or maybe increase the typhlosion line to 4-3-4 in hopes of setting up faster. Usually I have the energy requirement for typhlosion to attack but never have the much needed quilava or typhlosion prime at the right moment. Ursaring with rainbow energy works great, the lack of ninetales in my current redshark build hasn't hurt the deck too much. I just want to be able to set up faster, that's my problem

I haven't heard of anyone using Exploud successfully to eliminate weakness.

Put the Spiritombs back in. I'd think to run a Stage 1 (Ursaring) and Stage 2 (Typhlosion) line, you would benefit from a Spiritomb start to slow down the opponent while using Darkness Grace to evolve whatever basics you managed to pull. And use your Supporter cards to evolve the other line. Your deck strategy may even involve sacrificing the first prize (letting Spiritomb get killed) so you have enough turns to attach enough energy.

You know, uping the typhlosion count would increase your chance of getting it out sooner. Also, I agree with losjackal that a spiritomb start would hurt the opponent and help your side. There is also one more pokemon that can help here. Unown R, it can help draw cards for you, and move energys around if you up against the wall. Also if you just need one more energy, but don't have damage, you could attach a fire to unown r, Retire, draw a card and use Typhlosions afterburner to put the energy and damage down. How's that sound?

I agree with both of you that the spiritombs should go back in, I'll try adding unown R and do some more tests on redshark and let you guys know the turn out. Thanks guys!

So with the re-addition of spiritomb, my deck donk'd my old decklist 5 times out of 5 battles. So the consistency is way up. Haven't tried unown R yet, I will and let you know how it goes. I have yet to use palmer's contribution to my advantage and it only serves me to get back some energies so would it be a better idea to replace it with fisherman? One drawback is that fisherman only lets you take back basic energy, but at times I feel i could use the extra fire in my hand. Also, instead of energy exchanger, would anyone suggest interviewer's questions instead?
Current Decklist:

4-3-4 Typhlosion Prime
4-4 Ursaring Prime
4 Spitiomb (AR)

3 Bebe
3 BTS
2 Energy Exchanger
2 E-Belt
2 PONT
1 Luxury Ball
1 Palmer
3 Collector
2 Communication
3 Rare Candy

8 Fire
3 Rainbow
4 double colorless

Energy Restore is a Trainer card that lets you put 1-3 basic energy cards from your discard into your hand, based on coin flip.

With that many special energies, yes, Interviewer's Questions is great especially late game when your deck is thinner.

Not that crazy about energy restore, it's flippy. Interviewer's it it! Apart from that, any other suggestions?

I forget the exact decklist, but when I toyed with Ursaring Prime, it worked well with with Dodrio, 3SV for draw, 1UD for lowered retreat. About 2 Unown Q, 3-4 R, and 1 P. This build might or might not have had Jirachi RR in it.

I think Ursaring and Donphan Primes work really well together. Maybe you could encorporate that into your deck somehow? And if you do, maybe a Rising Rivals Flygon might be useful too. Oh and Uxies as well for draw power because you don't have the Ninetales anymore.

i :thumb::thumb: i think that might help

lol, I've thought of donphan but a friend of mine used to run a donphan/ursaring deck before he sold me all his ursarings LOL. So I thought i'd try something new :p
Also, I have yet to use palmer's contribution in any redshark battle, can any give me a suggestion to replace that slot? Also, what do you guys think of replacing the 3 rainbow energy with 3 fire energy and putting an unown p into my deck? Unown P lets you put one damage counter on any one of your pokemon.
