no offence meant, FF095: but what _you_ 'believe' isn't going to be good enough if we go way over capacity.

especially since people have been told over and over again that those who pre-reg'd and have their event tickets WILL be seated before those without; statements like yours only make people think that they don't HAVE to make the effort to get pre-reg'd, that somehow POP will wave the magic wand and get everyone take care of.

nice, but there will come a time when they just WON'T be able to do so...and then the screaming will start from the 'well you didn't hold to the cap number before, so why are you doing it NOW and *i* can't get in?!11!!!' camp.

in other words, posts like this are NOT helpful. POP set up pre-registration as they did for a reason, and assuring those who didn't that they absolutely WILL still get in does everyone involved a disservice.

"Players who do not have an event ticket are not guaranteed a seat in the event
What is an event ticket?
I e-mailed a request to be preregistered, and receieved a reply saying that I have been preregistered, but I don't remember getting a ticket.

Note that PUI has posted a FAQ about registration on their website.

http://www.go-pokemon.com/op/premierevents/championshipseries/nationals/info/06-07/registration.html

It says that you may start to line up at 8 AM. Registration is officially open from 9 AM to 9:30 AM. We are going to be super orgainzed and have everyone registered in 1/2 an hour!

No one said everyone would be registered in a half hour! DOH! It says you must be IN LINE by 930 am or suffer a 1st rd loss! Read the document FTW! It also says that the players will report back to the play area at 1030 am. SOOOOOO, that means, if the staff gets to do early deck checks and Regs at 8 am, that will be over 2 hrs to get people registered!

Keith

PS Trust me (I am on staff)....PUI/OP is working very hard on ideas and ways to streamline the process and be "super organized"! Poke wranglers to the rescue!

We will personally do our best to follow the instructions and do our part to move the process along! Hopefully others will do the same. You all have a BIG job ahead of you, I'm sure!!

i believe one's reg form is their decklist.

unless the player is willing to not change their deck till the tourney, how is pre-reg going to be possible that early with all the 'tweaking' that goes on when playtesting?

I have a request of those of you on staff. If we do hit that magic cap and there are players that want to play but are going to be turned away, will you make an announcement to those already checked-in? I had a blast playing in my first Nats last year and hope to have a grand time this year as well. BUT, I'm only here for fun and to support my kids - no aspirations of top cut for myself - so I would give up my seat to let someone else be part of the excitement too. I bet there are some other players out there that would do the same especially that special group of us called 'parents who play.' I know that it would mean extra work for you in removing us from the Swiss and checking the decks of the new players but I really think it would be a nice gesture.

When did you email to request being preregistered?
I received the e-mail on 6/11.
You'll pick up the event tickets when you get your badge at Origins registration.
OK. I thought an event ticket was something people print from the Origins website.
So, if I received an e-mail from Origins staff saying that I'm preregistered, then I have nothing to worry about?

When you get your badge, you will also receive tickets for every event that you pre-registered for. So if you pre-registered for 10 events at Origins, you will receive your badge plus the 10 event tickets (each ticket has the name of the event and time of the event printed on it). Make sure you receive all of them because (a) you need them to play in the events and (b) 2 years ago, Origins had HUGE problems with people not getting all their event tickets (we stood in line for at least an hour waiting to get it resolved.)

SD Pokemom, I agree with the conditions that you set forth on a pre-registration decklist. But I believe there are going to be a lot of people who already know what they're going to play and won't have changes. As long as people know (as always) that the deck you're playing with MUST match the deck you registered, I think it would be ok. (and let's face it, if someone is going to CHANGE their deck after registration, it doesn't matter if the time delay is 1 day or 10 minutes. So I don't think that's an issue.)

Just floating an idea to see if it might help. (I got the idea because of being able to check-in for a flight early over the Internet.)

Question: For the Constructed tournaments that run daily, do you just buy your event ticket at the registration deck and proceed to the event?

Where Do You Pick Up The Decklist Or Do You Have To Bring Your On Decklist Just Curious Since It Says Be In Line With Decklist Already Done.

Let me see if I get this right

You buy your badge along with an event ticket.
You Register, they give you a deck list.
You fill out your decklist.
You then have to option to get your deck checked, or not?

When you register, you need to have your decklist filled out.

And then you get deck checked. It is not optional.
