Well, when you're doing 6 tournaments and the possible days are 4 Saturdays and 4 Sundays, you're going to get Sunday events.

The days when Virginia only had 1 event. Seems like a long time ago now *reflects*. Back in those days, atleast/about 45 minutes was the time you'd expect to drive to a tournament.
 
Well, obviously you would have to have to have some events on Sundays. Just wish more were on Saturdays so that I could attend more.

I remember last season, I worked in one more CC because there was one up in Jersey that was on a Friday. It was some State Wide holiday, so they got another CC in. But I don't really think that is possible here in VA, since I don't think there is anyone who could organize it, it's just too impracticle. I have no idea how they managed that Friday event up there.

And yes, that is what my Bio says. And then I found out that everyone is over here at the Gym, and that the Gym is a little bit more organized than the beach. I only use the Gym for being able to participate in VA OP discussion, and to read more tournament reports.
 
I agree that Pokegym is more organized, has less beggining players, has better article submissions, and may have more in depth conversations than the beach has, but this place is just a little too "serious". I've read a couple updates on the front page (note: not the weekly news update. That is done very well.) that simply posted a link or a scan, while on PokeBeach WPM goes into detail when he updates, and shares his thoughts. It is much more personal at PokeBeach, and WPM also posts why he hasn't updated in awhile (so many things have happend to that guy, I feel sorry for him. Amnesia, Metal holding his mouth together, his Nana passing away, his website completely crashing and having to rebuild from scratch, losing several Laptops due to malfunctions, and that is just to name a few).

Also, is it possible for me to earn any of the special league energy from last season, namely the metal ones. I desperately need them, and almost no one has them.
 
WPM can make his website more personal because it is his website. Pokegym is not a website also, it is a forum with webpages attached to it. Most of the Gym's items are linked to a forum entry. A lot of Beach's items are actual webpages.

Yes, Gym's forum layout is neater than Beach's. However, Gym also has the Researching Tower connected to its image gallery. That said, Gym HAS an image gallery where lots of images of events and other things can be found (pokelolz, anyone?). Yes, Beach has ALL the English cards scanned, but that's just bragging rights if no one can search/sort them.

However, when it comes to news content, Beach has gym bested in every aspect. A lot of Gym's news articles even link directly back a Beach page if not reference a Beach page and you have to read the article on Beach to be in the know about what is being discussed here. People at league read the news at Beach, use the Gym's communication channels to talk to other people, and then discuss the news (they got from Beach) at league.

For the "serious" tone, I think the word you're looking for is "professional" or "formal." WPM makes his website very "casual," which does have its advantages.

In News: Beach > Gym
Forum layout: Beach < Gym
Resources: Beach < Gym
 
Gym is better for a couple reasons:
1. The Gym does not post unauthorized leaks.
2. Trades are more fair.
3. They have their own shirts and dice.
4. Its where we are now.
 
Eh, I know a lot of people prefer the Gym, and that is fine. The only reason I am here is because everyone else is here... so I kind of miss out on things if I can't join in on the discussion.

Can the League Energies from last season be earned?
 
yeah, at teh weekly tourneys who ever survies :D

i prefer the gym then the beach, in teh gym, i can work on my fitness but at teh beach, i get bitten by crabs :p
 
Actually, you can get a lot harder work out at a Beach than you can get at a Gym. I watch the Biggest Loser. A lot.

BTW, crabs wouldn't "bite" you, they would pinch you.

It's just a party in this thread. That's why our tournament threads are so much more active than MD's. Soon, it'll be time to transition over to the prerelease thread :rolleyes:

Oregon is the only one even remotely close to our thread size, and they don't have even half our post count. It is kinda neat, isn't it?

Maybe this thread will end up getting locked, but I don't think it should. It's a lot of fun to mess around. If you don't want to read it, then don't read it.

Maybe we will reach 1,000 posts.
