Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Virginia's Autumn Battle Roads

I am wringing my hands menacingly.

ooooooo PokeMedic is bending his cards

*JUDGE!*

*takes the cheap DQ win and walks away whistling*

j/k

Hey, I can't thank you enough for actually driving down to Warsaw and encouraging the VB crowd to do the same. It was awesome to have a big crowd for PRs.

It was cool to have lunch in the same seat that you play your matches !!
Anna's Pizza worked out to be a better location for a tournament than I had previously thought it would be.

ON TOPIC ...

After the Warsaw PR, Johnny wagged a finger at me for not playing in these tournaments (I judge more than I play now :frown: ). So, I am going to try to inject a little randomness (i.e. show up) in as many of these events as I can... because they are fun ... and free

Also, this may be the only opportunity to get a picture of Mr. W. vs. Mr. Tuskey (which has YET to ever happen) at an official tournament.

P.S.

I really like how the VirginiaPokemon google site has evolved.
I have GOT to get with Tim F. and get schooled up on Google apps man. Tim is a WIZARD with that stuff!
I'm feelin' it man :thumb:

I could hardly believe today's turnout. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I think we had 45 players in Masters alone! NoVA Pokemon life.

The two new players I brought had a lot of fun. Hopefully they'll be able to come to Fairfax, as well.

For lending us cards to complete our decks, thanks to: the Sanyer family, Mike, Luke, Jimmy, and one guy whose name I can't remember, but whose Pachirisu came in very handy.

See everyone next Saturday.

59 players total today!! For comparison purposes, my initial State Championship (no, they weren't called SPT tourneys back then) had, I think, 63.
We've come a long way!!
So, based on attendance yesterday, it looks like JRs and SRs received Championship points for 1st and 2nd. MRs received Championship points for 1st through 4th. Don't forget to preregister for Fairfax this Saturday. It seems pretty likely that we WILL reach capacity!!

Umm the instructions are pretty clear:

"The form does not actively communicate your position on the list and there is no automated e-mail. Instead, please visit the Timestamp Log. If the time you preregistered appears there, then you are on the list. Updates usually occur within 48 hours"

OK, to summarize:
•you will NOT get an email
•you CAN check the Timestamp log to see if your sign up time is listed. You DID write down the time you preregistered, right??? This should be updated sometime on Monday.

Then, :thumb::thumb:

Warrenton was an interesting BR seeing as no deck went undefeated in swiss and there was an awesome mix of six decks (IMO) that went 5-1 prior to top cut: Reshiboar/RDL (took 1st), Megazone (2nd), Ross' deck (3rd), 2 Gothitelle (4th and 6th), and Beartic (5th).

That sounds amazing. I did so ever want to go :frown:

Here's hoping we can make the next one.

If you are going to Charlottesville, and why wouldn't you, you can participate in the VG side-event. Please visit our leagues website for the rules. Remember, this isn't sanctioned and is just for fun. I want to say there will be some treats for those who do well, but I need to see what I can come up with. These rules are actually official rules now and they're pretty rock solid.

Looks like 2 PTOs in the house at Fairfax tomorrow playing!!! (according to the prereg list) Wanna guess who they might be???

We will do our best to get everyone in the event.. Juniors on the floor has been done before, right??? :thumb::thumb:
This one MIGHT be a 7 round swiss event for the masters!!

Is it true Mike M will be playing?? :D

Well, he was there all right.... Now, based on his record, I dunno if you want to call it "playing"...:biggrin:
(love ya, Mike!!)

79 in attendance.. Masters fell a little short of the magic 65th player, so they played 6 rounds again.
