Hey everyone,
After looking through the Platinum cards only a few stood out. Due to all the new Team Galactic’s cards and a fresh set of Fantastic Lv.x’s, I doubt many people will look at ALL the other cards. Delcatty was one of those cards that “Stood Out”. This card was an immediate combo with Ryperior LvX but I knew that it would be a really awkward deck. Then I saw Octillery. It was just the same as Ryperior, only a stage one. The only downer is that you have to flip a heads for each energy you draw. In exchange though, you don’t discard the cards, you shuffle them back into your deck. This is where Regice comes along. All you have to discard two energies, which ironically fits perfect with Delcatty’s power. The Uxie and the Claydol are in the deck for obvious reasons. The list though may I add, is terrible. I admit I am a rubbish deck builder so please don’t give comments like, “Your list is terrible” or “You really suck at deck building” because I already know. Just keep in mind that this is merely a suggestion and I have no idea how well deck plays. Please may you tell me: A). Do you think this deck could work. B). Deck list suggestions. Please, NO HARSH COMMENTS because I easily take offence to these things. Ok, on with the list:
THE LIST:
Pokemon: 20
4x Octillery 58/127 Pt
4x Remoraid 95/123 Mt
2x Delcatty 4/127 Pt
2x Skitty 119/146 La
2x Regice 36/146 La
2x Uxie 43/146 La
2x Claydol 15/106 Ge
2x Baltoy 60/106 Ge
Energy: 15
15x Water Energy
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums: 25
4x Bebe’s Search
4x Roseanne’s Research
3x Lookers Investigation
3x Broken Time-Space
2x Life Herb
4x Poke Drawer +
1x Technical Machine TS-2
1x Luxury Ball
2 Warp Point
1 Felicity’s Drawing
Scans can be found on the researching tower but these are spoilers for quick reference:
Octillery LV.40 – Water – HP90
Stage 1 – Evolves from Remoraid
[.] Water Vein: Reveal the top 5 cards of your deck. Flip a coin for each Energy card, and this attack does 50 damage times the number of heads. Then, return the revealed cards to your deck and shuffle your deck.
[W][W] Octazooka: 40 damage. When the Defending Pokemon attacks, your opponent flips a coin. If tails, the attack fails. This effect continues for as long as the Defending Pokemon remains an Active Pokemon.
Weakness: Lightning (+20)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 2
Delcatty LV.53 – Colorless – HP90
Stage 1 – Evolves from Skitty
Poke-Power: Power Circulation
You can use this Power once during your turn. Choose up to 2 Basic Energy cards from your discard pile and show them to your opponent. Then, place those cards on top of your deck in any order and place 2 damage counters on this Pokemon. This Power can't be used if this Pokemon is affected by a Special Condition.
[C] Power Heal: Does 10 damage plus an additional 10 damage for each damage counter on Delcatty. Then, remove 2 damage counters from Delcatty.
[C][C][C] Rear Kick: 60 damage.
Weakness: Fighting (+20)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 1
Strategy:
The aim is to get a continuous cycle of Octillery, Delcatty and Regice. With 3 Broken time space this will be very easy. You then use regi move (Regice’s power), which allows you to discard 2 cards. Then if your opponent’s active is a basic, your opponent has to switch it with one of their bench. Considering how much potential damage Octillery can do you can easily get a secret sudden attack on a slow pokemon, which needs lots of energy to attack, i.e. Tyranitar. You intend to discard two energy cards which when your main attacker needs no energy to attack, you hand will generally have a knack of filling up with energy. Delcatty’s “Power Circulation” allows you to put 2 energy to the top of your deck, but you have to place 2 damage counters on Delcatty. As you can imagine, with two Delcatty your Octillery can do MASSIVE DAMAGE potentially. Okay. Octillery, the main attacker is the icing on the cake. Its energy less attack, water vein allows you to reveal the top 5 cards of your deck, and then you flip a coin for each energy you find. It then does 50 damage for each head you flip. This may be quite flippy, but in the long term, this can be fast, quick and cheap damage. Octazooka. Octillery’s signature attack is very good as a late desperation attack. I choose the legends awakened Skitty to prevent a T1 KO by Kingdra’s or sablyeye. The two Remoraid are pretty much the same but the MT can hit a bench and has a better second attack. 15 water energy is a good amount because it’s a good 25% of the deck. Many people will think the Trainer/Supporter/Stadium line is quite controversial. 4 Bebe’s and 4 Roseanne’s are essential staples for most decks. Roseanne’s are needed loads though, because it can get Energies and Regice. Lookers Investigation is such a great card for this deck. If you have no energy in your hand your can get a fresh 5. You may think, yeah, but there are better cards like Cynthia’s. But Lookers investigation also has a really good other effect because sometimes you might have a brilliant hand, and you want to make the most of it. Way too many would consider 3 broken time space to be too much. But with all the super fast new decks it’s essential to get the faster start. 4 Poke drawer+ is needed to get Key cards that are missing. The technical machine TS-2 is needed to return a stage 2 that had been candied. Which in most cases is very likely. 2 life herb is needed to recover a Delcatty that has used its power too often. 1 Felicity’s drawing is good for discarding energy then drawing at the same time.
As soon as I go to the pre-release I will check matchups and post them on ASAP.
Thanks for reading!
