You heard wrong:

1st: Nidotic
2nd: TTar/Trode ex
3rd: Nidotic
4th: St TTar

how did nidoqueen break the format like that, how did it do that, I just don't understand how it did so well, I'll except it and all, but it's the same blank expression as Magma winning last year's worlds

1. It was consistent
2. It's weakness(grass) was unplayed
3. It was a secret. It hadn't done well anywhere else and wasn't on the radar... Monarchy, and certainly monarchy variants were discarded as inferior decks (Magma part two)
4. It was well played, well tested, and well ran(three players)

I expect Deck Check strategy articles to be publish on the official site about the winning decks, besides the release of the non-tournament legal cards.

Aside from being kept secret, Free Retreat made it effective for Opponent's to not take prices. (Pidegeot) The thing about this game is when you KO someone, you gain 1 card advantage by drawing a price. This is especially true against decks with no OHKO abilities.

Briney effectively heals+ switches...must say the deck is VERY well thought out and constructed, as well as tested

Uhhhh... Nidoqueen doesn't give free retreat to any pokemon in the deck.

Except Nidoran and Nidorina, but you shouldn't be using those.

The only other real pokemon in play besides nidoran and nidorina would be pidgeot, and nidoqueen. if nidoqueen is active, there's briney or milotic to set her up, if something else is active(besides milo of course) it will have free retreat.

I have been sick/busy in the last few months and have been unable to attend leauge or keep up with the current meta-game much. So, for people who are clueless like me, what does it do and which Milotic are we talking about?

Milotic HL.

Poké-power:"Once during your turn, when you play Milotic from your hand to evolve 1 of your Pokémon, you may remove all damage counters from all of your Pokémon and your opponent's Pokémon (excluding Pokémon-ex)."

It's a gigantic pokemon center.

I for one, don't see this as "Magma" of 2005, Pooka playtested it During Regionals, dumped it as he couldn't get the ludi match straight, Adam,Pablo saw it, they got Jeremey on it, Adam played it @ nats, and they continued there deck then :)
