What do you suggest?

Although this isn't the official way to get in touch with POP when we are offering suggestions, perhaps we can get together on some ideas that someone can suggest to Nintendo in regard to the professor program. I know they have been working on it due to some posts on the regular forum, but I was wondering what everyone thought would be good and perhaps helpfull to be used as incentives for those as professors, league leaders, and tournament organizers. I realize I started a similar thread asking what would be good for use in your leagues, but I think this is different enough to warrant another thread. So how about it? What would you like to see as incentives to becoming a professor, league leader, or tournament organizer? I have a few suggestions but I'll let someone else get the first post in answer.

Well, this is just off the top of my head...

We need new Professor Polo Shirts. We've been using the standard blue for quite sometime at all of our events in Florida, but many of our newer staff members do not have access to the old polos. I was made aware that shirts are in the works, but I think they were targeted towards PTOs, not Professors. Being instantly recognized as a person of authority at tournaments is crucial and important. Preferably it would be best to create three different shirts: one for the head judge/TO, one for the judges, and one for the rest of the non-judging staff.

Plus the blue shirts have "DCI" on them....unless you've cut those threads off....

And why shirts for PTOs? Unless the PTO is a Professor this is bizarre. I'd hope they produce judges shirts first as they are the front line with the players. If something gets kicked all the way up to a TO, the judge is usually involved with the conversation.

A shirt would be good.
Then the chance to earn mor shirts by activley participating.
Also a Judges store with SHirts / Hats etc that we can use to buy extras and or rewards for our players and tourneys

how bout let's first get the Prof program up and running before worring about shirts?

But shirts could be part of the start up of the prof program. Quickly, how do you identify a Professor, right now? You have to either take their word for it or already have a working relationship with one. Some means of identifying existing Profs, and any new ones, once that ability is available, must exist.

Strangely enough, I'd like an incentive to be something like: "Be smarter than your peers, get to judge them for once"
I don't know about the States, but a lack of qualified judges (not only professors, but people who know the rules by heart) is severely limiting here in my lil'country.
Of course, some restitution for expenses made (perhaps travel expenses for staff) would be nice, but not all-important.
As for Professor Identifying: The current profs all have a tournament ID consisting of 3 or less numbers, which will immediately set them apart. Granted, shirts would be nice, especially if people at the tournament don't know the staff.

I understand the fact that profs should have a head on the shirts, and that many may believe that Ptos dont have a right to them, but think about this, what does the PTO gets? I know, money, but many are pokemon enthusiasts, and giving away a VIP package is indeed painfull, what I would like to have are prof exclusive merchandise, I like the store idea, but also, exclusive promos as well, I was so proud of the reverse elm promo... just when wizards sterted to throw them away, and now, almost everyone can have one, it was a cold shot at my lill' heart, and good promos, as one may think, my god they are professors, a professor birch holo might do the trick, and though that is consistent with the line, how about a tv reporter holo (or reverse holo with prof logo on it) I know it is nearly impossible, but that would be my dream.

Shirts? I dunno. I was thinking long white lab coats, but that might cost POP more than we want it to. At the very least I would like to see large circular buttons with the Professor logo (if there is one that POP supports) so that Professors can wear whatever they want and can still be picked out of a crowd... somewhat. As long as a crowd of people aren't up and walking around between tables at a tournament.

Lab Coats are:

Long: Easy to Trip On
Heavy: Hot to Wear
White: Anything Stains It

Bad idea. Judging is all about versatility, lab coats severely limits it.

OK, then Professor hair gel so we can all gel our hair to look anime-ish. :p

A polo shirt is always nice.

and never forget the anime-color hair dye (to die for) also some sye stretcher, so to have the full effect, I do like lab coats... and many here know something that is as certain as not gonna be told and I am giving away perhaps more than should be and trying to disguise it as a cryptic and strange thing.

James seems to have the wrong idea...

Of course the only professor status he has is in cross-dressing.

I too like the idea of professor only merchandise (polo shirts, hats, tees, badges) and promos exclusively for professors. How about things that will make running a league or tournament easier, like something worth working for, like a PDA, or maybe perhaps a laptop? Or how about relatively inexpensive things like pokemon stationery? Copies of the newest pokemon games released, or maybe even sneak peaks at the next release (games cartridges, or cards) before they come out? Any more worthwhile ideas to let Nintendo know about?

Besides getting the program up in full swing (and the exam...), shirts or something to identify the Professors on duity should be a must. Even though this isn't the DCI, I always where my blue polo shirt to premier events, so the players can track me down easily... But as BJJ said, they clearly state "DCI" on the sleeve... so in honour of POP, I designed an ID Badge with the POP logo and my name I wear on a lanyard (all of the Milford, MA Premier Judges have one ^^).

I don't know about things such as a PDA or laptop... but perhaps a laptop case / PDA case with the pop logo could be kinda cool. I remember seeing a laptop case Dark Mike was holding on to back in the days of the STS that had a DCI logo on it...

Of course I'd suggest a pda or laptop would have to be some sort of premium due to outstanding service to be determined by someone at PUI. Ok, how about this: Access to a professors only website or forum? I wonder where I came up with that idea.

Yes, if other games have prizes like those, we would love to have them, though I agree that the level of partcipation would be a 100% aoul involvement, but frankly, other than magic (and that would have to be proved first) there are no more lolal people than the poke community, or so I would like to believe.

I do believe we will be seeing those kinds of things once it starts officialy, hope ir is soon.
