Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

What is your team and strategy?

My current team is:
Pokemon Trainer Red
Charizardx1
Pikachux1
Ho-Ohx1
Eeveex1
Meowthx1
Groudonx1

I don't really play with a strategy as much as I have the theme of Pokemon Red/Satoshi has owned/encountered in the anime. For those that don't know Red/Satoshi started with a Pikachu, and saw a Ho-oh (assumedly via retcons) in Kanto. One of his trademark Pokemon is Charizard, who was known for it's ill behavior and strength. In Yellow, your rival/Gary Oak started with an Eevee. Meowth is representative of Team Rocket's signiture mascot Pokemon, and Groudon was featured in the Jirachi movie.

Any thought of Groundbreakers figures? (The few we know of)

Latios is way broken. 3 MP and high dodge and powerful attack. Hariyama has potential with its Slap Push move.
Mightyena is decent, it cancels out any Purples.
Armaldo can be really good, or bad, depending on luck. Battle armor lets you re-spin damage, and it has Pierce, which does 130. But it also has 1 MP and its dodge move makes it have Wait.
Geodude serves as a suitable replacement for Absol. Selfdestruct id 25% with 3 stars, and it has42% Rollout, (similar to Charizard's fire spin, ewxcept its 30 damage) And despite being a rock-type, it has 2 MP, same as Absol.
Elekid... not so much. He's a 3MP-er, but its only use is the SelfDestruct trick, and Absol is better for that.

Well Latias and Latios would be broken, if not for the fact that they are Mirage Pokemon. They have an effect where once they are KOed, they are removed from play. That's pretty darn balancing, considering you'll be down by 1 once it's gone.

Hariyama is great, I have to say playing against someone with a Hariyama is tough. Hariyama is easily one of the best that came out of the starters for Groundbreakers.

Can somebody provide texts/pictures for the Groundbreaker figures? That would be useful for general reference.

You can find the pictures by google image search "Pokemon TFG Groundbreakers". Text spoiler is not available other than the handful of figures from the starters and shown in the user guide.

1MP
Feraligatr
Lugia

2MP
Shroomish
Ho-Oh

3MP
Latios
Chimchar

Trainer Cards
X Attack
Switch
Max Revive

Like most people, I keep Feraligatr and Lugia in the back, guarding both of my own entry points.

Latios and Chimchar play forward, gunning for the opponent's entry points. Each has the potential to deal a fairly strong white attack (Chimchar's 40HP Ember and 20X Fury Swipes help make his strong Miss area easier to deal with, and Latios obviously is killer as long as he doesn't face any Purple attacks). So they can often hold their own when encountering the opponent's other 3MP Pokemon he's pushing forward towards my entry points. If I know I'm going to be facing another lightweight Pokemon, I'll use X Attack too.

Once I get to either opponent's entry point, I pull out Switch and bring one of the 1MP boys in to trek towards the goal, most likely Lugia.

Shroomish and Ho-Oh are just my assassins. If one of my lightweight guys gets knocked out, I move these two towards 'em to kick some tail and hopefully deal some status effects. Also, obviously, they're useful for when another fight ends with two Misses - then I can bring one of these guys in for the surround.

Pretty standard strategy that a lot of you guys play with, but the great thing about TFG is how much variety there is with how each character has to be used, how much risk is involved in using each, etc...plus the trainer cards.

I want to use some of my other figures to figure out a couple of other more specialized teams, though. I'd like to make a good one built for just chugging towards the goal, winning battles. Or perhaps a super fast team (if I had more than one Latios, it'd be pretty cool to try a team with a bunch of those with like one 1MP Pokemon in the back). That's something I'll work on sometime.

trainer: red(untill i get misty or sabrina)
trainer cards: max revive x2, long throw

i've actually got two teams, my main team and one i made when i felt like making some random team. ironically, it won more games than my main team. =P (they both have the same trainers and cards)

main team:

1 MP: groudon, kyogre

2 MP: zangoose x2

3 MP: eevee, murkrow

My strategy is basically the same as everyone else's: eevee and murkrow tear for the opponent's entry points to block, groudon and kyogre defend the goal(and keep each other from being surrounded), and the zangoose go around killing everything. A well balanced team.

now for my sillly team:

2 MP: zangoose

3 MP: murkrow, treecko, eevee x3

i'd actually prefer to put that x3 on the murkrow instead, but i don't have that many. basically you make a mad dash for the entry points and goal while zangoose gives your goal some defense.

those are my teams, for now
