So I just got an envelope from a Pokegym member that was supposed to contain cards for a trade. The original envelope was mauled and empty and enclosed in a USPS envelope with an apology on the back. Can the person who sent me the cards get reimbursed? The message says nothing about getting money or goods back. I haven't opened the envelope.

Thanks!

Providing the sender insured it, they would be able to get some form of restitution...but as people probably don't insure things like cards, the sender probably won't be getting anything. That's my guess anyways without knowing the specifics.

I'd go to the post office and talk to someone about it. I was under the impression that if they get something mauled and empty, they're supposed to return to sender, but maybe not. :/ If they enclosed it in a new envelope they obviously saw how you wouldn't be getting anything.

That just doesn't seem fair. :(
Besides, who (other than the 2000 ppl who play competitively) would actually steal pkmn cards? I mean, 2000 out of 2000000?!?!

It's not that they were necessarily stolen, plenty of improper handling could lead to an envelope being torn up.

To which you respond "Cash prizes." ;P

Except they technically give you no cash at all :(

Scholarships =/= cash, you can't cash them out iirc and if you have no plans on going to/back to college, they're worthless unless you want to give them to a family member. Travel vouchers, well you still have to spend money to get to the event to receive them, so I'd call it a push at best. And unless you turn around and sell your won booster packs, those technically don't count as cash either.

You can sell them to parents with kids who will need the scholarships. You wont get dollar for dollar, but you do get some cash!

Good point, never thought of that, though you'd then have to go through the hassle of telling POP that they now have it. Good idea though...now, I just need to win one...

<.< Many people have friends even though they play this platapierule. I do, obviously lots of others do too because they don't quit because of the taunting that they get from the random people.
