Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

What will surprise at States?

The things that will "surprise" at states obviously aren't going to be talked about.

But there are a few obvious combos from Platinum:

Slaking/Dialga G LV.X/Memory Berry
Bastiodon/Leftovers/Metal Energy/Blissey/Other forms of healing and damage reduction. It NEVER DIES.
T1 Rampardos
Mightyena/Skuntank G
Toxicroak G/Skuntank G
Manectric/Ampharos
Blastoise/Delcatty

Giratina Lv.X, Shaymin Lv.X and Palkia G Lv.X will all be very popular, as will all of the new stadiums and trainers we'll be getting. In the past, secret decks for states or regionals have been counters to whatever was popular at cities. I don't know if that will work this year, with so many interesting combos coming out in our pre-states set, but we'll see.

The best thing to do at States is to just play a deck you're very familiar with. Give it a few quirky personal touches to make it a little bit unpredictable and harder to counter. And above all make sure your deck is extremely consistent.

Probably got killed because Gengar Dusknoir is TERRIBLE.
This thread is pointless, the second you post a reply on here about a deck it is no longer a suprise. Anyone who has a deck for states will not reveal is on here. =/

My favorite part about this set of states compared to the last two years, is that this season we get a set thats actually gonna change the top tier compared to Cities. GE only improved the Top Tier decks, and PK did nothing to the format. Platinum will have a huge influence though.

And unlike Emerald, the last "filler" set, this set will actually have a lot of good cards in it...

Since when was Platinum a FILLER set? I mean, Majestic Dawn, Power Keepers and Emerald were filler sets, but PLATINUM?

This is not a filler set, this is the American version of the Galactics set. A filler set is one mostly made of Japanese promos and such.

drapion
i promist this card is playable ill show you ive got me a mean list.
scizor cherrim will be even meaner with shaymin being released.
with the new sp pokemon regigigas can benefit.
i can see banette having some t2 potential
machamp will see play because on its donkability and with new sp pokemon its raises the donk odds.
spread stuff will definatly be played for exp. ttar giratina dusky aboma
also empostar/tech will see play because of handsomes investigation.
these are all decks i could see being played but there will always be rogue / surprise decks
and heatran varients with cherrim varient decks being upgraded
but its just my opinion
p.s. i did not include kingdra and raichu for a reason

Drapion is weak to Psychic, correct?
Toxicroak kills you easy, which is going to see an annoying amount of play next set.
