what will win Nats

Take the results of the European MD Nationals and you will see that Empoleon has done at least as good as G&G. Unless Leafeon will to be very big for some reason, there should be nothing that puts GG/Plox above Empoleon.

So if you want my odds:

30% Empoleon/anything
30% Gardelade/Plox
10% Eevee-based deck
15% other archtypes (Garchomp, Banette, Magmortar etc.)
15% rogue

Hmmm I think Beedrill will take Nats. Its fast and somewhat consistant(my list can be made better). No its not the best deck but at least its not GG or Plox.

There's a lot of things running around. Like Mike said, based on the Battle roads results we saw mainly Plox and Empoleon. And that was about it that made top cuts. There were a couple other red face paint typers that made it but they probably won't survive in the environment. I'd say it's 40-40 with Plox and Empoleon and then 20 for a red face paint. I've seen a few red face paint infernapes and garchomps that can run away if your not careful.

Rock Lock is BDIF.

Look at the past 2 US Nats. What won? Delta, then the year after, Mario. Both rogue decks at the time. Major decks were in contention, but the best players always go rogue and take it.

My list of decks that could take it:
Empoleon
Blissey variant
RockBand
Leafeon variant
Skittles

Empoleon will be big, but I bet red face paint will take the cake.
Why? Just lok at the winning worlds decks. About half of those were red face paint combos.
As for G&G, it's droped in play.

I think Empoleon will take most of the Nats. Being able to do 100 per turn (or 80 if playing against a Dusknoir) is solid, plus its ability to bench peg. Also due to its lack of PokePower it can use cess-lock too

Mario didn't win U.S. Nationals, at least not in Masters or Seniors. Speed Spread was not a rogue deck either. It had been played and won States and Regionals beforehand. Underground, yes, as far as people not having a good list, but it was not a rogue deck.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

I don't think you guys know your history at all saying that rogue wins the majority of U.S. Nats/Worlds. Let's take a look:

2004 Nats: Gardevoir (Archtype)
2004 Worlds: Magma (Rogue)
2005 Nats: Medicham (Archtype)
2005 Worlds: Nidoqueen (Rogue)
2006 Nats: Delta (Rogue)
2006 Worlds: Mewtric (Archtype)
2007 Nats: Speed Spread (Archtype)
2007 Worlds: Speed Spread (Archtype)

If you think some of these weren't archtypes, you probably weren't really in the loop. They were in my eyes. Delta was the last true rogue deck to win either. It's been two years. If anything you could say that a stage 1 deck has won the last 4 largest tournaments in the World. That is pretty interesting.

shouldn't nidoqueen be an archtyp becaus everyone was playing it that year

Queendom was intorduced in 2005 worlds by Venesaur and others. It wasn't until the next format did it get popular after it won the whole tournament.
So, it was still a rogue until after 2005 worlds.

who is seriously going to pop out there SD at BRs and not wait until nats? Majestic Dawn released too much sickening cards for Empoleon or GG to win.

I wouldn't really call it an Archtype since not many people used it or knew of it."

After States most people should have if they saw decks that made the top cut.
Eeveelutions was an early form of Speed Spread.

Something not posted on this thread. Seriously, who's gonna reveal their secret decks online? I do think it'll be something rogue or have a secret tech involved.
