What's the weirdest thing that ever happened to you at an event?

Hmmm, I thought this might generate a bit of discussion/gossip. For me, the weirdest thing that happened is that I lost my pants! Yeah, sounds kinda fishy, I know. I'll give the whole story once we see a few more comments.....

um I got a flat tire during lunch break at a tournament, barely made it back before I would've lost the round for being late.

the weirdest thing to happen to me was a guy spilled his soda on my deck. Good thing I had it double sleeved. I do want to know more about the pants though.

To tell the whole story, I have to say I had a van full of players going with me to a Provincial Championships where I was going to be head judge. The travel time was upwards of an hour, so we grabbed some food and coffee on the way. Well, as you can probably expect, I missed my mouth and made quite a mess of my pants while driving. Fortunately the venue was right across the road from a mall that had a walmart in it. After I dropped the players, my son and all our gear and cards, I went across the way and bought a new pair of pants - putting the ones with a stain in a bag. It would have been very embarrassing to be walking around judging with a breakfast stain. Anyways when I got back to the event I figured I'd just leave the bag with with our stuff and no one would be the wiser. However somehow that bag ended up with one of the other judges stuff and was scooped up when they left! So I really did lose my pants there for a while. After phoning around I found their location, and after having a good wash they were sent back to me in the mail. Talk about traveling pants!

So yeah, the story never got too kinky, but it does sound a bit more gossip worthy if you just say I lost my pants at an event!

I suppose the weirdest thing that happened to me, while not that strange, was being thanked for my I Double Theme Decks thread. What I imagine was the case was that word of mouth got around enough about it that people I had never met had heard about it. Didn't end up doing so well at the event, so it was a nice consolation to hear that there were people starting to play the game being helped by my work.

My weirdest judge call at an event was: "Judge, someone has stolen my discard pile"...

OMG, ..... I hope you don't take this badly, but I think that's a bit too OCD for me. I'm just not that organized! LOL.

Not at all, you just never know! What if you eat a super greasy burger and put too much faith in a fart? You will at least have that back up, lol.

Vaporeon, just a little TMI that I'm not quite sure I want to keep in my mind about you .... like that time ..... uh .... NVM.

LOL.

Shadowcard - that reminds me of when my wife and I were vacationing last. We were staying at a Hilton that was completely booked up for a weekend. I figured hey, no problem, it's a Hilton. However, we only got 1 wake up call out of 3 that we asked for, the toilet backed up and overflowed (which they cleaned up - kinda sparingly though), and on the day we were set to leave, one of the maintenance workers was sent in to fix a non-existant problem while we were sleeping! I've never believed my safety was ever in jeopardy in any of the hotels I ever went to in the past until now. Needless to say, we got a free hotel stay, but I doubt we'd ever go back there again!

Weirdest thing to happen to me during a tournament? I went to a tournament in PA (Cities), and after the third round, I returned to my car to grab my lunch and I noticed that someone broke my left, rear window. They didn't steal anything-- which was weird because I had tons of expensive stuff in my car (laptop, Ipad, GPS, radio) but just decided to break the window. I had to drive home from PA to NYC (3 HOURS DRIVE) in the coldest of Winter with a broken window. But I did make top-4 that day :--)

Some of you will remember me, some won't. I've been active in the competitive scene in Ohio as well as traveling to worlds many times in the past.

I'm fairly tall (6'2"is) and a guy... but I do have long hair and a fascination for make up. That being said I understand that I have a rather feminine appearance...

That also being said more than a few times players have mistaken me for a girl (understandably) and I must be a fairly attractive one as I've had many lunch/dinners bought for me "anonymously" as well as many indirect invites to return with a player to their room to test for a tournament...

Let me be clear and say I understand how I appear, I do identify as male, and I am flattered that I'm apparently a "pretty guy"... but it does make for some odd interactions XD
