Where are the collectors at?

Shame I could never afford that Number 3 Trainer though.

Collectors may also be happy to know that I, DJ, have converted to Japanese promo collecting XD
 
Well Im getting my first collection boost from Mozz soon, dont even know what Im getting but you can bet its gonna be good =)

To: Jaeger, awesome auction that You have up on ebay and of course you are going to get allot of bids and for any reason, You don't I'm sure someone here or out there will buy it from You. ;)

To: Scott, as you well know I speak what is on my mind and while I do back You up often, I'm afraid to say it but capitalizing Your letters would help bring your point across better. As You may have noticed crazypokemon has taken the effort to do so but that probably won't last long.
 
Nice! I like that 3rd place piakchu. "3" in the world isn't bad either. I wish they would switch up the design every few years like the old trophies...to me changing the logo and date doesn't make it any different from the last the previous years.
 
Yeah, new designs would be cool.
Doesn't always have to be Pikachu either all the time.
Japan had awesome Mewtwo and Exeggutor ones which were cool too.

Changing the design would probably make them worth more too.

I would agree with something other than pikachu, but its a classic. Its true there only 3 per year, but that makes it something like 12-15 total now. I think its about time they tweaked the design a little.

Maybe one with Pikachu sitting inside the trophy or something, if they wanted to keep Pikachu.

Although this way lets more collectors get their hands on one.
 
They should change the illustration of the cards once in awhile. Its nice that they include the year in the text, which they didn't do for the old school Japanese trophies. Does anyone have any ideas on what would be a cool illustration for a trophy card? I think it would be cool if they made a trophy card depicting Magikarp flopping from a trophy cup filled with water, perhaps with each higher ranking more Magikarps get added to picture like what they did with the Japanese battle road cards with the Pokemon in the background. There would be like one Magikarp for the No.3 two for the No.2 and three for the number one.

Why Magikarp? you ask, why not :)
 
There was one Japanese promo where the number 3 had a trainer with two different pokemon next to him/her, the 2nd had the first two with 2 extras, and the first had two extra one top of those 4.
You can see a picture of the male version of the number 1 in Mozzs eBay banner.

That might be quite cool, if they added more different pokemon rather than just more Magikarp like Will said. I like the idea of more stuff as it goes up though.

Alright they could add a squitle, pikachu and munchlax trying to fish for the Magikarps, or any other friendly looking pokemon
 
Hmm this is an interesting topic, they should make another tournement similar to the TMB and SSB and choose a designated pokemon for that like they did for those two. I mean I give exeggutor a lot more respect now because I associate him with the TMB. Anyway there are some other trophy cards out there that we don't know about and probably never will own, there is one in the gallery here that I think looks excellent that you dont hear too much about, here is the link,

I think there are other cards out there like this that no collector has ever owned, or at least confirmed owning, I do not know how you would gauge the price on a trophy like this since it has never been sold or really seen on ebay.
 
I really like that card probably because of the holo design and lugia in the back.But the kid looks creapy to me,It kinda freaks me out maybe the was he looks or how hes posing.How much would this card be worth by any chance.

Yeah, Scott.
We'll never get close to getting those since they are unique and probabaly mostly still held by the original winners.

And crazy, as Scott said, it would be hard to make a price because non have ever been sold to our knowledge.
 
yeah none have been sold, there are other cards like this that have not been seen by many people. I posted a trophy card that was not yet on the gym or bulbapedia and I know there are more out there, but yeah a price on them would probably be very high.
 
I like the card with the picture of the 4 people on it.
Although again I'm sure having their photgraphs on a card will make people much less likely to sell even if they gave up Pokemon altogether.
