It's been discussed before, but when did the white border begin in japan?

Do you think PUI will change it?

I really hope so.

White borders are ultra sexy.

We need white borders here.

We should like... all sign a giant petition to PUI.

this is why i use japanese energies--because the borders are pwn. now, if i had matrix energies with white borders...UBER PWN.

Wouldn't changing the border color require everyone to use sleeves with solid backs?
I think they're talking about changing the yellow front border to white, but assuming you knew that I see your point.

There's a few magic players here that play their land in one color, and their spells in the other, so they can see if they're going to draw a land or not by looking at the side of their deck (it takes time to learn this... but it's pretty easy to do sadly).

No no no WPM, he means the borders on the face of the cards not on the backs. Originally I knew we had gold borders because of the e-Reader code strip at the bottom of cards. Now those are gone, so the only reason I believe we have gold borders is to easily identify Japanese cards (besides looking at the text) from our own. This is especially handy for judges in tournaments, if we know the border color is different, then the back of the card is going to be different. This is relevant when it comes to using cards with multiple backs to ensure the player is using sleeves as well. That is my opinion.

I thought the Japanese had white borders on both sides. Guess I was wrong. :)

If it's just on the front and does not change the back at all, I am all for it.
