Yes, he came with the NES, but only in its very early stages of release. It was a robot that connected to the NES and you were able to play some fun games by using the NES control to move ROB's arms. It couldn't move from place to place. It is very valuable to collectors especially if it is still in box, but that is very rare.

also incidentally R.O.B. 64 is the name of the Robot pilot of Star Fox's Main ship, the Great Fox
True, but that is a different ROB -he's only a trophy in Smash.

The NES my parent's bought had the R.O.B. attachment.
It is the most stupid yet coolest piece of video game membrobelia i've ever seen. It looks so cool, yet when you play it in Gyromite it is basically unplayable unless you have PRACTICED. Not that bad in Stack Up, though.
