I don't play tropical beach because of the cost. The deck is still good without it. I have found if you don't have tropical beach then you need at least 10 cycle cards. I prefer blissy and dodrio.

I understand the cost aspect of Tropical Beach. However, try proxying for it in some casual games, and you will see the difference of having it vs. not having it. I'm not arguing that the deck is not viable without it, but I'm merely saying that having 1 copy of Tropical Beach is better than not having it.

I did some playtesting last night with two friends who run blastoise/feraligatr/beartic and tyranitar. I was thoroughly destroyed in both cases. The sniping ruined reuniclus and tyranitar's resistance made it too hard to KO. A problem i've noticed is that I don't seem to be hitting as hard as I want. Should I add a Jirachi and Shaymin, or am I pushing my limits? Also I lack the resources to obtain a tropical beach. Dodrio was okay, but it wasn't able to set up but for one game as it was prized mostly and it got sniped the turn it was out.

1st match
Reshiboar/Tornadus
My first match was against a pokemom. Her three sons attend league here often and she plays with them to spend time with them. She leads off with reshiram to my sole cleffa, but I top decked a collector and set up Gothitelle by turn 3 and begin to sweep, taking the first match.

Score: 1-0

2nd match
Reshiboar
My 2nd match was against another reshiboar with Bad boar in it as a tech against gothitelle. My opponent was the girlfriend of one of my friends and she started off getting both different boars by turn 3. Fortunately, I got Gothitelle up before them and kept her from getting energy through the lock, taking out both boars and winning the game.

Score:2-0

Right now is usually the time things get bad for me as there are 5 other people at 2-0 and they've all beaten me in the circuit, ruining my chances to make top cut.

3rd Match:
Z/P/S/T with Yanmega
This match was against a friend of mine from Slidell, LA who I've only fought once in the circuit. I was worried about my bad luck involving the match ups, especially since I started with only a solosis. Fortunately I went first, because he had Tyrogue as the active, and top decked collector, enabling me to get cleffa and eeek. He sets up Zekrom by turn 3 aand takes two prizes before I get up gothitelle and reuniclus. I used twins malicously, keeping myself behind while building up before taking all six prizes before he could grab his fourth (I KOed a solosis using damage swap to use a twins).

Score: 3-0

4th Match:
Reshiboar
My 4th match was against one of the guys I wanted to beat and it was my 1st time playing him in circuit. He is a skilled player and I honestly believed I pulled this match out of my butt. He went 1st and by turn 2 he had a rehiram, emboar, and ninetales and started hitting for 120, earning some quick prizes. I manage to get Gothitelle up, but reuniclus hurt me as my other 2 candies were prized and I had to junk arm away a max potion and judge to get my rare candy from the discard pile. After that, I managed to get reshiram from my deck and keep gothitelle alive after about 2 or 3 more blue flares. My hand was gone and unless I drew something good it was over. I top deck a PONT get a new hand and get a max potion, keeping my lock alive for another turn. That didn't stop him , and before long he had me full of damage to the point another 10 on anything would KO it. Amazingly, he scooped after revealig to me that because I kept gothitelle alive for so long, he exhausted all his fishermen and energy to the point he had ony one fire energy in his hand and deck and wouldn't be able to attack again for the remainder of the match.

Score: 4-0

5th Match:
Reshiboar

Yes I faced this deck four times now. Good grief. This match was against another guy I wanted to beat, namely for the fact that everytime i ever played him in the circuit I was easily beaten. It didn't go that way this time, but I still lost as I was stupid enough to grab only one solosis my first turn, which he catchered and killed with a blue flare. I tried to return the momentum, but I couldn't build up reuniclus fast enough and I lost two gothitelles and the match as my 3rd was prized. I'm still kicking myself for it.

Swiss Score: 4-1

My first time doing this well made my day and I made 1st in the top cut. This came back to bite as my opponent ws running megazone, and took two wins against me before I could do a thing, ending my run for the week. I hated the fact I lost after trying so hard, but I made it to the top cut for the first time and I'll make sure it isn't the last. Thank you guys for your help and wish me luck in the future. Also, I am removing the judges and a few other cards to add another candy, PONT, and pokegear to boost consistency.

I went 4-2 with my Gothitelle today. I dominated over both TyRam & ReshiBoar, with losses coming from a Yanmega/Kingdra/Jirachi deck (6-0 :/ ) and a Beartic/Zoroark (Drew 3 energy total w/ no hand refresh). Missed top cut by 1 game, but I learned Gothitelle is very viable against current meta-decks, at least in my area.
