Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Why do people like watching people open Boosters on YouTube?

"People like what I don't like? Pathetic!"

wow really?

I like watching people open old pack or new japanese sets because I find it interesting and because I'll probably never open them myself. I think pack opening videos usually are pretty cool, although there is a lot of them (people want to make youtube partnership and have youtube pay for their cards)

I never said it was pathetic. I said I didn't understand.

It isn't "people like what I don't like". I also don't understand why people enjoy these. Pack opening videos are probably the lowest quality videos I have seen. They usually involve a laptop camera. Japanese and old packs I can see, but is there any difference between that, and looking at spoilers? Spoilers give a better picture of the set as a whole and they don't take as much time to look at. Pack opening videos are often about people overreacting to opening up rares and bad cards -- I often want to slap people who make a big deal about rares. There is a rare in every pack -- get over it.

If people watch pack opening videos for the reaction, I can think of many better reaction videos (perhaps videos that involve only one cup).

So... enlighten me please :) Why do people like it?

About the partnership thing, parterships only apply to things that appeal to MANY people. Pack opening videos only appeal to a niche group of youtube viewers. Look at all partners on youtube. They can appeal to many people -- especially those who understand the content. We, as pokemon players, understand pack opening content, but not even many of us like the videos. How would a channel dedicated to pack opening ever get partnered?

I don't get it either.

It's also kinda frustrating for me to watch such videos, because I usually pull complete garbage from packs. So watching everyone and their mother pull awesome cards is painful ;_;

I only watch pre release vids to see the odds of pulling something and seeing if its worth going 2

I'm honestly surprised and disappointed with most of the responses in this thread. Obviously people enjoy these; calling those people "pathetic" is horribly rude and offensive.

I love pack opening videos. Why? For the same reason I love opening packs. It's exciting to see what these people are going to get. It's exciting looking at new and interesting cards. Beyond the cards themselves, it's interesting seeing these peoples personalities. I only watch openings done by interesting, entertaining people, because they are interesting and entertaining. Why else watch something you can do yourself? I think we all do that, whether it be sports, cooking shows, travel shows, ect.

If someone were to take offense of it, then of course it must be true:)

I find it dumb to watch that anyways, id rather go smile somewhere:)

Anyone that tried to act in some way superior to others when we are all playing pokemon is silly.
It's like when comic book nerds make fun of D&D players for being to nerdy, just makes you look like and idiot.

I look at the psycho drive/hail blizzard ones, and get jealous that japanese cards have better edges.
