Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Why/when did you start?

I loved the games alot back in the days.
Way more than anime and still does.
I first got into pokemon at the eve of 1999 when there was a school craze.
I was more of a collector back then and sold all o fmy cards but Nidoqueen, which was my fave card and it was my 13th birthday present.
I was forced to get back into social a few years later which is 2005 because of my family saying that i was so anti-social and need to get back into social fast. I decided to get back into Pokemon TCG because of the tournaments and would try to play the game as I was a bit worried about my disabilities but hey, it wasnt a problem now since I know the rules and know how it works thanks to my 2004 serious addiction of playing the Japanese TCG2 game. Ever since, I loved to socialise at the league but not much these days however i always have fun and love to play at the premier level tournaments.
Right now, I am on a break til December while reworking on my hearing because of the recent cochlear implant operation. :)

Collecting and Playing: Around Jungle or Fossil.
Quit: Neo1
Started playing competitively: Power Keepers

I was here from the time Base came out.

Remember when Machamp could be traded for something.

Or the time Charizard was basically equivalent in price to a whole box. If you had a Charizard, you had basically infinite trading power. Doesn't matter that Ninetales (or, really, Charmeleon) was better. Charizard was big and flashy and could kill almost anything in one hit.

Right up until your opponent killed it with Blastoise. They need to reprint him. He was saucy. Saucy in a way which excites the lasses. Which reminds me, they also need to reprint Lass and errata her to hit both trainers and supporters.

My son brought home a Pokemon card (base set) someone gave him on the bus when he was in First grade. He loved the characters. We got him some cards for Christmas. My husband and I taught him how to play by reading the instruction booklet. I helped him build a deck by following the guidelines on the back of the player mat. That seems so long ago! The game turned into a father /son event for a few years, with my husband taking our son to leauge. I didn't play until Nintendo took over. Then I went to the pre-releases so my son could get more cards for his deck-building. I think I went to 3 or 4 pre-releases before I ever won a match!

I started when base was out. The kids I babysat for started playing the game, and I jumped in. I stopped playing when Neo Genesis came out, and then started back into the game with Crystal guardians being my first prerelease.

My first pre-release was Legen Maker. That's when I had the winning streak of getting Mews.

Ummmm my history with PKMN TCG is weird

I play the Game Boy game (Emulated in a PC ) and i want to give a try in the "real" game... but my parents havent much money for it. So i get my Charizards and Blastoises in my PC

I grown up, and i get a job... a really well payed job. So i say myself: Why dont give it a try? I start in the end of EX Era... in 07/03/2007.

I'm collecting since then. I got a really huge colection (Of olders and new cards too, thanks to Mercado Libre ) and im looking for tourneys and that stuff... but i dont have too much time so... i only collect

I have been colecting since base set came out but started playing soon after because I had lots of doubles and I figure that I might as well put them to use instead of letting them lay around. I got hooked right away and keepted playing with my cousent. I found a leage in my area at around the time gym challange set came out and played there for a while (I even meet my curent husband there) and played untill that league was closed (the store owner was upset that itmes were getting stolen at a big rate when a certan league was going) so I basicly went back to colecting untill around ruby saphier when I found another league and now I am in the process of becomming a professor and still enjoy colecting and playing pokemon.

I used to collect baseball cards. I heard about Pokemon cards as a "hot item" and I bought 3 Jungle packs back around the time Fossil came out, originally as an "investment." I bought some Base set packs a couple months later, and it wasn't too much longer that I started playing at League... just before Team Rocket came out, as I recall. My old Dragonair/Scyther deck was pretty formidable at league.

Somewhere around that time I stopped caring much about baseball cards and decided it was a better investment to buy something I could enjoy, rather than a hobby where I had to handle everything with extreme care and get stressed out about a bent corner.

I've been collecting Pokemon cards ever since 1st Edition Base Set. I was collecting baseball and M:tG cards at the time, and the idea of a Pokemon TCG looked great at the time, so, I just got sucked in.

I learned to play the TCG via the Game Boy game. For some reason, in mid-2001, I decided to take the plunge and start playing at a Pokemon League in a local mall. When that league ended in early 2003, I moved on to the Dragon's Lair Games League, which at that time was run by a highly controversial (and IMHBNSEO, possibly mentally ill) League Leader. When he split up his League in the spring of 2004, I decided to stay behind and become the new League Leader. I haven't looked back since.

Why do I play? I love to collect, I love to hunt for rare promos, and I love the challenges. I also think of my League as a means of giving back to the community - my way of keeping a tiny little corner of the world off the streets.
