WI States? Any word yet?

Well its been a while since a post here. Anybody know if they are going. I found out that I will probably be there with about 4 other Team TIY members.

That's my first weekend of spring break so I'll be home in Green Bay--just about 40 minutes from Manitowoc. So yes, I should most definetely be there. Might be crammed in there like sardines but what ya gunna do?

It would be SCHWEET to have states or any large event here in Whitewater. We got more than enough room and everyone loves the venue.

We might start running pre-releases starting with the next set. Since I can't get PTO status right now, the Manitowoc crew will come down and run the tournies and have me judge. Nothing is finalized right now but the plan is to have the prerelease the second Saturday, which would be May 7th.

Yeah, get those pre's down to your 'hood, I liked Whitewater a lot and it's over an hour less for me to drive.
 
Yeah. Whitewater tournies are nice. It makes me able to go to 2.... Brookfield and Whitewater. Pointless to drive far becase prizes are so small for prereleases. But this way.... :biggrin:
 
The venue is good, the Burger King is within walking distance, lol. (About 50 feet away and you don't even have to go outside) Definately gets my vote for the WI place with the best surrounding for pre's to be held at.
 
thanks ST, if we got the opportunity to have states, we would definately do it...we're hoping to get ex emerald, like menoknow said...keep an eye out on the prerelease boards

For first elimination round pairings, I can imagine being paired against Jessica because thats just how things usually go. Don't worry though, it isn't gonna be an easy win. I'm thinking the outcome of states is kind of 50-50 for Jessica and I. :thumb:

Matt goes 1-5 and 2-6 this weekend at states, i go 3-3 and 4-2 mostly on bad luck losses--yet you put him in the top 8 over me. Just remember who ended your 42 game win streak or w/e it was you had with your magma deck after you talked so much smack about it :p
 
same as other posts, prove them wrong jeff. me and derrick have been playing each other for a long time, he knows ill be ready to win at manitowoc...especially after this past weekend. derrick vs. jessica or chen in the finals of 11-14
 
States at the Basement

Hey guys this is Jed (the PTO) for Wisconsin. Yes the school was cool last year and we were looking at it again this year but with an attendance of only 56 last year we know that they will fit in the store. We are not allowing any other events to happen that day. We also have permission to use the upstairs store that is currently empty. If we get a big crowd ( Everyone show up) then we will open it up. I know the store can get crowded but we have a good plan to work round it. Ok thats it see ya all there and good luck to everyone. If you have any questions about said event let me know. I am leaving for GAMA on friday but I have my laptop and I just need to find a wireless connection.

I'm betting it will be Jessica and I in the finals, but I'm really hoping its someone else for a change... I really am. Maybe Cody? Now that would be a nice and easy match! :wink:

There are too many people depending on me to win this coming weekend. Josh and Jas know that they'll be able to go to Nationals if I win, and Team Brookfield and Team Wisconsin don't want Illinois to sweep again, either.

Now to decide what to play. I've got in narrowed down to 2, but with some testing and building today, I may come up with my final answer.

Another time when Dave thinks I don't stand a chance and favors Illinois players over me. I am going to have to play my best because there are good players. However, I need to win, or I'm not gonna be able to make it to Nationals, most likely. You guys go no matter what. Jessica will end up going no matter what. I won't. My friends and I going depends on that cash allowance.
 
With already 2 trophies on my shelf, whats to stop me from getting a 3rd? Pooka? OHH WAIT I ALREADY BEAT HIM! Win 1 trophy and youre good, win 2 and you're a pro, win 3, and you're a GOD.
 
Just remember who beat you in the last round of swiss in IL and almost kept you out of the top 8 cut. I'll be in WI, so you'll have to get through me AND pooka :cool:

I should be wearing my 'lucky beads' I aquired in MI which will give me an extra edge :tongue: And tomorrow in the basement of my dorm they have some Mardi Gras party thing where I can get some more beads. I hope the girl I met last night at the circus is there again :thumb:
