Hello, I would like to know the price for the following list, assume that all cards are in "Mint Condition" without being graded from PSA or any other professional graders.

Tropical Wind 2009 Top 08 ($350-$400 error, if not then $265-$330)
Tropical Wind 2009 Top 04 ($500 error, if not then $350)

Tropical Wind 2009 Staff ($140 error, currently selling around 80ish but it will change soon enough)
Tropical Wind 2009 World Set Promos ($160 error, if not then $125)

Just to be clear:

Top 32 = Top Thirty-Two
Top 16 = Top Sixteen
Top 08 = Quarter-Finalist
Top 04 = Semi-Finalist
Top 02 = Finalist

Somebody correct me if I am wrong here, each age group (Juniors, Seniors, Masters) has a top 32, 16 and so on. Therefore:

World Set Promos = 192 Binder sets each year= (64 players each age group)
Top 32 = 96 cards each year = (32 players each age group)
Top 16 = 48 cards each year = (16 players each age group)
Top 08 = 24 cards each year = (8 players each age group)
Top 04 = 12 cards each year = (4 players each age group)
Top 02 = 6 cards each year = (2 players each age group)
No. 3 Trainer = 3 card each year = (1 player each age group)
No. 2 Trainer = 3 card each year = (1 player each age group)
No. 1 Trainer = 3 card each year = (1 player each age group)

Then in that case:

1st Place: No.1 Trainer
2nd Place: No.2 Trainer
3rd Place: No.3 Trainer

1st-2nd place: Finalist
3rd-4th place: Semi-Finalist
5th-8th place: Quarter Finalist
9th-16th place: Top Sixteen
17th-32th place: Top Thirty-Two

That mean the Champion (1st Place) get: No. 1 Trainer + Finalist + Semi Finalist + Quarter Finalist + Top Sixteen + Top Thirty-Two promos

2nd Place get: No.2 Trainer + Finalist + Semi Finalist + Quarter Finalist + Top Sixteen + Top Thirty-Two promos

3rd Place get: No.3 Trainer + Semi Finalist + Quarter Finalist + Top Sixteen + Top Thirty-Two promos

4th Place get: Semi Finalist + Quarter Finalist + Top Sixteen + Top Thirty-Two promos

5th-8th Place get: Quarter Finalist + Top Sixteen + Top Thirty-Two promos

9th-16th Place get: Top Sixteen + Top Thirty-Two promos

17th-32th Place get: Top Thirty-Two promo

This is all on point except for maybe the 2009 top 32, got one for $80 and was offered another for $80 with error.

The 2009 prices I gave reflect the potential and the natural supply and demand curve. T32 there are 192 cards available each year. Because of the error, now there are only roughly 96 of each version (DP48 and DP25), and that is a significant error that won't be ignored. The demand will remain the same, while the supply is cut in half. As these cards only really matter to collectors, the price should start to rise dramatically as the supply dries up.

Just while this topic is up, does anyone know the estimated value of a Top 16 Tropical Wind from 2004? I still have one I'm considering getting rid of, so I'd just like to get an idea of what it's still worth.

There was no Top 32 in 2007 from what I can remember. The cut was only a Top 16, so I find it hard to believe they gave out cards to 16 players or 1/3 of the players who didn't make cut.

Drew

Ok, I missed the Top 8 cards.

Just to be clear:

Top 32 = Top Thirty-Two
Top 16 = Top Sixteen
Top 08 = Semi-Finalist
Top 04 = Quarter-Finalist
Top 03 = Finalist ??? No. 3 Trainer?
Top 02 = Finalist ??? No. 2 Trainer?
Top 01 = No. 1 Trainer

Please clear up my confusion regarding No. 2, No. 3 and Finalist. Then make necessary adjustment on the price list request.

Does the No. 3 Trainer exist or is just called Finalist????

How many cards has made for each Top?

Example: Top 32 = only made 32 cards or there was a duplicate, if that so then 64 cards made for Top 32 ???

Also how many "World Set Promos" from each year 2004-2009 ??? (Including Staff stamped version)

Since "Championship Arena" promo was only given in the World 2005, I will include it on the Price List Inquiry.

Now that "Pooka" said he have Top 16 from 2004 now I will be adding on the list of price inquiry. How about World Set Promos in 2004?

Can anyone confirm what "TheDarkTwins" said about no Top 32 in 2007?

The top 2 Tropical Wind exists and it is stamped FINALIST, not to be confused with the #2 and #3 trainers. I already gave you the price for the finalist Tropical Wind cards. #2 and #3 trainers would each be about $3300 on average but they have a very wide range depending on how many serious collectors are trying to get them at the time and have ranged anywhere from $2100 all the way up to $5700. The top 8's go for $275 to $340ish.

Somebody correct me if I am wrong here, but each age group (Juniors, Seniors, Masters) has a top 32, 16 and so on. Therefore:

World Set Promos= 192 Binder Sets
Top 32= 96 cards Each Year
Top 16= 48 cards Each Year
Top 8= 24 cards Each Year
Top 4= 12 cards Each Year
Top 2= 6 cards Each year
#1, 2, and 3 trainers= 3 cards Each Year.
__________

Championship Arena $200-250

__________

If Dark Twins said it, it doesn't need verification. Drew sells cards like most of these all the time. It's his business to know.

Ok, explain me how the ranking works. I never went to World Championship and I wish I was there. But since I am from Puerto Rico, there is no much opportunity to get ranking since there are only 2 Pokemon League....

Anyway, so you says that Finalist "Top 2" is NOT No. 2 and No. 3 Trainer???

Then in that case:

1st Place: No.1 Trainer
2nd Place: No.2 Trainer
3rd Place: No.3 Trainer

1st-2nd place: Finalist
3rd-4th place: Semi-Finalist
5th-8th place: Quarter Finalist
9th-16th place: Top Sixteen
17th-32th place: Top Thirty-Two

I am confused about this....

That mean the Champion (1st Place) get: No. 1 Trainer + Finalist + Semi Finalist + Quarter Finalist + Top Sixteen + Top Thirty-Two promos ?

2nd Place get: No.2 Trainer + Finalist + Semi Finalist + Quarter Finalist + Top Sixteen + Top Thirty-Two promos ?

3rd Place get: No.3 Trainer + Semi Finalist + Quarter Finalist + Top Sixteen + Top Thirty-Two promos ?

The 4th Place get: Semi Finalist + Quarter Finalist + Top Sixteen + Top Thirty-Two promos ?

5th-8th Place get: Quarter Finalist + Top Sixteen + Top Thirty-Two promos ?

9th-16th Place get: Top Sixteen + Top Thirty-Two promos ?

17th-32th Place get: Top Thirty-Two promo ?

Please let me know if my assumption is right otherwise please correct me.

I edited in the 1st post. Let me know if the price look adequate.

Your assumptions are correct! Your edit looks good, but you may as well take the 2007 top 32 off.

Next time World's are in Florida, you should come and participate in Grinders! :thumb:

Heh, I wish!!!! The economy is bad and I am spending money on Booster Boxes. I just bought 2 boxes of Arceus, I got all except Shining Bagon and Shining Shinx. Plan to buy HeartGold-SoulSilver. I have to get 4 Feraligatr and Ho-oh / Lugia Legends !!!!

Back on topic:

I edited again in my first post with all important and useful information for Pokemon collectors like me to get an well informed info. Make it a "sticky post" if possible.

I am missing 1 info: How many cards is made each year for "Staff" stamped version of Tropical Wind / Tropical Tidal Wave?

Also, are not those card supposed to get an increase in value each year it passes? Maybe $10-$25 increase per year?

I can't tell you how many players were in 04 or 05, but in 2006 there were 156 in the Masters (from what I remember) and I am not sure about the two other age groups.

For 2007 there was only 64 per age group and for 08 and 09 there were 128. However that doesn't include the binders that were given to the staff members.

Drew

To correct you...
My friend got 2x SEMI FINALIST cards in 2007 as well as 1x of each lower one.
2008...He got 2x Top 16 and 1x Top 32.
2006.. 2x Top 32... Same goes for another 2 of my friends.

Tropical Wind 2009 Staff $80
Tropical Wind 2009 Top 32 $100
Tropical Wind 2009 Top 16 $180
Tropical Wind 2009 Top 08 $250
Tropical Wind 2009 Top 04 $300
Tropical Wind 2009 Top 02 $1100

That's my opinion on all of them, as that's what I'm hoping to get for my extra set

Are you talking about the quantity of players who participated in those years? or you are talking about the quantity of binders that were given out or made?

I remember that World Championship 2007 was held in Hawaii and this was kinda hard to get in since it was mostly by invitational only plus lucky winners from Grinders.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

2008...He got 2x Top 16 and 1x Top 32.

Weird.... either your friends traded over to get an extra World Championship promos or there was in fact the printing company that make the card made out more than it was supposed to....

We know that there is Top 32 in each age category, so that make it 96 cards being made for each year. Why they should print more than 96 cards????

Same applies to Top 16 = 48, Top 8 = 24, Top 4 = 12, Top 2 = 6, and the No.1, 2, 3 Trainers = 1

But I can understand that the "Staff" stamped version is made for a fixed quantity let says they made 100 of them and only 60 staffs who attended in the World Championship. So the extra 40 cards could be distributed among those 60 people.

We need someone who have contact with Pokemon Company International and ask about that information. Very useful for Pokemon collector who want to know the exact quantity being made for those cards.

I am not sure about 2004, but I know for 2005-2009 what they did as far as stamped promos for the winners.

In 2005, 2006, and 2008 they gave out cards to the T32.

1st, 2nd, and 3rd got 1 Trophy Card based on their respective placing. Then depending on where you got eliminated (T2, T4, T8, T16, orT32) you got 2 of the card where you got eliminated and 1 card for everything round you played in. So if you lost in T16, you got 2 T16 and 1 T32. If you lost in T8, you got 2 T8 and 1 T16 and T32.

For 2007, it was the same but only applied to T16.

Last year, they supposely gave 2 of each card to everyone save the Trophy Cards. So if you made it to T8, you got 2 T8, 2 T16, and 2 T32.

I am not sure what they did for 2004 but that is what I know for those years.

Drew

Tropical Wind 2009 Staff $80
Tropical Wind 2009 Top 32 $100
Tropical Wind 2009 Top 16 $180
Tropical Wind 2009 Top 08 $250
Tropical Wind 2009 Top 04 $300
Tropical Wind 2009 Top 02 $1100

That's my opinion on all of them, as that's what I'm hoping to get for my extra set

The prices I gave for those is what they should be worth in a year or so. This takes the collectors view on the error aspect as in this example:

250 collectors want the top 32 cards. In a normal year, there are 96 of these cards to go around so well over a third of the collectors are able to obtain one. This year there is an error version that is a major enough error for that group of collectors to take notice to, thereby feeling compelled to have one of each for there collection. Thsi means there will be the same number of collectors (250) vying for complete sets ( 48 each error and non error) of this years worlds cards.

Common sense tells you that this year's Tropical Winds are going to be much more valuable than the others. Possibly in a decade, THE most valuable of all the Tropical Wind/Tidal Wave cards.
