Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

World Championships COMPLETED RESULTS

I already think its a bunch of horse crap. Obviously whats happening with that deck is working. So its kinda hard to say there is just too much going on with it. Its unique and just what this format needs. Cuz its obvious to see Typhlosion, MegaZone, and Magneboar are the top 3 this upcoming season. But this deck changes everything.

I know that it is a great deck and a great builder, but I would not get too excited about this one deck changing everything. That's what people said about Xander/Carlos' deck at US Nats. It had it's run at glory and then folded at the Worlds. Their deck had weaknesses that tyRam and MegaZone could exploit. People just did not know how to approach it.

It would seem that Ross's deck is succeptible to Zoroark + SP Darkness energy. It's just that no one has that in their deck. Also, the popular decks are running a very heavy trainer line because people were not expecting Vileplume. All you have to do is use a few more supporters and make the stage 2 line much closer (4-3-4). The deck was a BRILLIANT metagame call, but only time will tell if it has staying power, or if it is has an easily exploitable weakness.

The world site updated the Senior and Masters brackets but not the juniors. i'm curious how Nawal is doing.

It is updated, he won.

I think the real question is, can ross beat RDL? Dragon mirrors are easy enough, as is 'Zone, but what about RDL OHKO'ing his dragons and them 2HKO'ing him in return? If a loaded RDL is on the bench and Ross KO's the active, RDL takes 2 Prizes, receives damage, take s2 more prizes, then may very well get that third attack before he can set up a third dragon...this will be interesting.

Though, I'm betting, Vileplume makes it pretty tough to get out RDL...

Yeah, locking those Communicators would make getting out the RDL difficult I would think. There are not any support searching cards to get them out, is there?

I hope Ross wins, it would be good to see more Vileplume around when Catcher comes out. Him winning will inspire me to tech Vileplume into a Deck.

Ross beat Sami, and going from the past 3+ years, he will win.

I'm honestly curious, what does that mean? Has the person who knocks out the 1 seed won the last three years, or the person who knocked out Sammi won the last three years?

anyone know what t4 are playing?

If you go to the original post of this thread it is all laid out wonderfully (awesome job btw!)

And yeah, every year the person who beats Sami wins Worlds. Shame he didn't win it this year but something tells me he'll be back in the Top Cut next year!

Sami was beaten by Yuta in the top 8 last year, Silvestro in the final of 09, Klaczynski in the quaters in 08.

In 08, he lost to the runner up in the quaters in 07

I agree, but with Sage, Magnezone's draw, and probably some other draw power (Shuckle or Ninetales), it would seem fairly easy to hit the RDL, as long as the can get both Zone and Emboar in play without candies.

Wow rogue and MagneBoar. What a turn of events!

Let's go rogue then!

However, I do still think that Catcher is going to be very bad for MagneBoar. This might be the decks last chance at taking the top spot.
