Totally Biased.....

hey all,

Thanx for all the great rogue comments, they really mean a lot to me.

Testing and playing the Eevee deck has been a long process. I first put it together the last week of cities. I played it the first week of states in Missouri. I took 3rd place there and realized that all 5 evolutions were vital to this deck. With many months of testing and only missing the cut in 2 of my 7 major events the deck seemed to be promising.

It is a very fun deck to play. Even if you opponent knows the list, they are still unsure as to how you can respond turn after turn. This by far is a metagame deck. You cant describe how to beat particular decks. It just seems to happen with the correct plays. TIMING was everything in this deck. just when my opponents thought they had me, I would pull off this incredible play to lock up that game. (Except in the finals of course).

I feel that if this deck is printed it will teach a different style of play. PATIENCE!!! Its not always about who can do the most the fastest. The majority of my games were come from behind wins.

So on to my pics to click.....

I dont know who ran what but these are the decks I would like to see marketed....

Mewtric ... for obvious reasons. Pokemon would have a descent proxy for MEW EX. Since they are so hard to get!!!

Blastoise.... How can you not go with the most popular deck all season? I just dont see them passing this up.

Flariados.... Easy to play, lots of luck, and teaches many different aspects of the game. Plus kids LOVE to flip coins.

Eeveelutions.... Marketability for this deck would be so high. With a wide variety of playable EX pokemon kids could not refuse it. The rogue factor may have a huge part in it too.

I do not believe that they will print lunarock, as the majority of the cards are easy to obtain. No real rare or Ex cards in the deck. Why would people pay $10 for something they could slap together with extra crap??/

Food for thought..

Mewtric, Eeveelutions, Flariados, LBS

Mewtric has Mew ex, which will sell well. Eeveelutions has 5 different pokemon ex, and a lot of little kids love the eevee evolutions. Flareados is just solid, did well all year, I think it deserves to be printed. LBS was not only the most popular, but also the most expensive.

I hope they DO print LBS, itll be a nice "representation" of the '05-'06 season. I think all 3 first place decks will be printed, along with Jimmy's Eeveelutions.

Are you trying to tell me that Lunatone's and Solrock's aren't cuter then those darn mutated Squirrels.

If think based on Merits it would be 1st places and 2nd place in 15+.
What about Rai/Eggs? Nationals winner for 15+. (Pichachu deck....) Has merit also.

If you think the 2006 metagame defined:
LBS - Flaridos - MewTrick
are the top 3
then:
Lunarock - Metanight - Eeveelutions

If you look at Marketing of Cuteness and coolness of cards:
LBS - Eeveelotions - Metanight - Mewtric (only because of Regirock)
are the top 4
then:
Flaridos and Lunarock (yuk).

I think PCL (or whoever makes this decision) is going to be looking at how well the decks potentially sell. Going off that, these are my choices:

1. LBS. Obviously. The biggest deck all year. It cost $250-$300 to build during the year, meaning people would gladly pay $12 to use the deck, even if it's no longer legal. Also, 10 Exs for $12? Who would turn that down?

2. Mewtrick. MEW-EX!!! Also, the winner of 15+ devision. It helps even more that this deck is completely legal next year.

3. Eeveelutions. Many EXs, which are very popular with the kiddies. Cuteness factor is huge for this deck.

4. This one is the tough one. The remaining decks all have some factor holding them back from being extremely popular sellers. Let's look at them one at a time...

-Flariados. MY #1 choice for fourth deck. It's the only one with EXs, however, the flips involved in the deck may make it a bad choice.

-Metanite. Supposed to be a very big force next year. Lack of EXs hurts it, but Dragonite might make up for that somewhat. Probably wouldn't be very big.

-Quendoom. Might happen. The same basic deck that got #1 last year got #3 this year? It'd be very interesting to see this printed. It's being rotated out though, and doesn't have much percieved value, so likely not.

-Lunarock. Won't happen. A deck full of commons and trainers? Psh. It wouldn't sell. At all. This one will not be made.

That's what I think. LBS, Mewtrick, and Eeveelutions are given. The only question is the fourth deck.

actually, these decks aren't decided on by PCL. they aren't even sold in japan.
i can't see them making both flariados and eevolutions. if lunarock isn't printed, then not a single 11-14 deck will be included in the bunch.

Ness' Mewtric is not 100% legal next format...

Cards from his deck not legal next year:

1 Regirock-ex
4 Admin
2 Pow!

Looks like you'll have to change 7 cards. That's the closest you're gonna get out of all the choices you have.

If Lunarock is sold. (My personal favorite) It would need to be packaged with the deck it was built to beet.... LBS.

Classic David versus Goliath Battle. Lot's of great battles in one package.

eeveelutions would be a good seller...so would mewtric. i guess i don't see flariados being that popular with kids. lbs would be good too.

Remember, none of these decks are going to be "legal" for the next format because they all run Rocket's Admin and besides, the Worlds decks aren't legal for tournaments anyways. I think they look mostly at the popularity of the Pokemon that are in the decks that win.

Yep, yep, all not legal. But I can say that Jimmy's deck deserves to be printed. Quality player, quality deck, what an equation!

Maybe we should have actually PLAYED to see who was 3rd at Missouri states... please don't claim third place without having played for it. Say you top-4'ed. I mean, we both made top 4 but I had the higher seed from the Swiss rounds.

I'm not mad. Just... what would you say if someone claimed "I was 17th in Worlds!" when all they know is they lost in the top 32 round. No disrespect toward you, the deck, or your playing ability. This just goes in the category of "questionable bragging" among things I get irked at, especially when it's a claim that I have just as much right to.

Anyway.... back on topic. Mewtric is a given. LBS, I think, would be a given also. It would sell well. The 2 remaining spots are either Eeveelutions, Flariados, Lunasol, Metanite or... hmm... there's no chance Shedinja will be made, is there? In my opinion, it'll be Flariados and Metanite just because they have somewhat simple strategies, compared to the other options. Well, except for Lunasol which I don't think would be very popular.

I will not even get into your "SOUR GRAPES" issue. I only lost one game at that tournament and assumed I was the highest seed. My mistake. However, I will gladly play you (with your state deck) with my deck to rightfully claim my place as third. I mean you lost to QUEEN!! Jeez....

This is really bad.... What kind of loser would argue over the title of 3rd place???

I took 2nd at worlds buddy!!!

SOUR GRAPES!!!

Jimmy always puts his place as the highest possible (ie top32= 17th, top 16 = 9th, etc)
But who cares? He has the right to do so.
Now, you're a player from Missouri whom I am not farmiliar with, therefore I will safely assume you're not very good. Prove me wrong whenever you come by. pfft.

Congratulations Jimmy! :)

Sour grapes? I clearly said I wasn't mad. And according to people who were watching, the Queen player was stalling at the end, out of energy cards. One more turn would have tied the game, and then I probably eventually ground him down for the win.

Now... I give credit where credit's due. Great job at Worlds, and at the Gym Challenges, and indeed you did a great job at States too. I just believe in due credit. And you do deserve MUCH acclaim and credit for the job you've done. Sour grapes? Hardly. But perhaps you won't mind me claiming third as well?

Now... if you want to continue this, let's take it to PM and keep this thread on topic.
