Grinders deck: HOPEFULLY I can play Trigonometry at the Grinder (So if you hear someone screaming "Sine!" "Cosine!" or "TANGENT!" then you know who's there <_<), but if not then it'll end up being Garde/Gallade. :[

hey gang.
i'm new to the forums (and trying to keep in the right forum and on the right topic and all that newbie stuff)
but i just figured out that the tournament was happening in orlando (i live here) and i'd like to go watch.
i play pokémon sometimes. this sounds like it might be a blast to check out so my question is... WILL it be okay for me to just show up and watch? and if it is... would it be boring for someone who's generally new to the culture? (as far as tournaments and league and stuff)
lolz. sorry if i sound uber paranoid or something of the sort, i'm just not really sure what to expect.

Well, just from my experience,
The tournaments take place on tables that are... quite a bit away from the nearest walkway, so it's not that easy to watch. If you want to get a feel for how these kinds events work, I highly recommend the prereleases on Sunday, as everyone builds decks with the same cards, thus everyone is on a (somewhat) even footing, but I'm not sure how exciting watching the main event or the grinder would be (well, the Grinder might be interesting just to see how many people are there)
They also have league play during saturday and sunday, so even if you decide you're bored with watching, you can find someone else who isn't in the main event, play them, then win prizes just for playing. So while I myself find watching fairly tedious, there's all sorts of other side events you can participate in which are plenty fun and are pretty much the reason why I've been going to worlds the last few years :X.
