Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Wormadam

The more and more I think about it, Wormadam can be decently effective. It's just the survivability issue of Burmy that sucks.

Forgot Trash Burmy only got basic metals. :/ Well, at least the evolution CAN make use of the special Metals...

And yes, the fact that Wear Cloak only works when they're active slows the deck's recovery speed dramatically. That's why recovering can be so hard, as you'll need 1 energy from the Wear Cloak, then have to evolve to avoid getting one shotted by everything. So where's the extra 2 energy coming from? DRE? You're now not dealing as impressive damage, and 80 HP isn't too hot (though Plant's 120 HP is survivable until a Cessation Crystal equipped Kricketune raises it's hand...Blade...Thing.)

A Burmy (Plant) and Sceptile combo sounds decent, if you've got loads of Switch/Warp Point/Warp Energy in hand. But a stage 2 might be pushing the deck a bit much... Especially since we don't have DP4 yet, and thus we don't have particularly exciting pre-evolutions for Sceptile (which is where Wormadam's supposed to shine, early game. If you don't get a Burmy start, the Treeckos won't do much to help you)

And we still can't answer the fact that Empoleon sniping, Rayquaza ex d Sniping, Octillery sniping, and even Crobat (ew) sniping instantly kill the Burmies. Flygon ex D's going to KO them with 3 inbetween turns of Sand Damage and 1 Psychic Pulse, meaning you'll have to evolve them early to avoid the knock out, which means you won't be able to charge them up with Wear Cloak.

wormadams having too little HP is a big problem. Take the sandy for instance, it's attack sounds similar to blissey's attack, but, it has a rather low HP compared to bliss.

Mothim is AWESOME! What you guys don't realize is his attack is ANY damage done to the defending pokemon next turn by an attack is increased by 40. This means it doesn't have to be damage done by Mothim, it could be any of your Pokemon.

True, but it's really easy to get out of that. WP and Psychic, Warp Point, Switch, retreating...I think evolving changes that status as well.

The problem isn't Magmortar. Magmar can't OHKO the basics (without Lake boundary, and no Magmortar's stupid enough to play it). Wormadam Sandy can OHKO Magmar. It's quite plausible to T2/3 Donk them.
The problem's stuff like Rayquaza EX d making this deck almost impossible to set up. VERY big problem.
The problem's unplayable after the first turns basics, making recovery out of the question from surprise KOs.
And I very much wish these weren't such prominent issue, we really need something other then Blissey to run rampant :/
