I'm still curious to know which cards would have been in these sets. They were ready to be distributed but Nintendo didn't allow Wizards to sell them. Is it possible for us to find out what would have been in the sets now?

I wish we could. There was a non-disclosure clampdown on that info.
The most that I was able to find out was that a lot of the mechanics that WotC came up with for Jamboree found their way onto other cards later produced by PCL and PUI.
Nothing specific, though.

If I remember correctly it was speculated that Jamboree was going to have something to do with the Vending Series/Vs./Web series. Nothing was officially said though.

I remember there were a list made by soslowpoke with the hypothetical cards of LCII.

...

...Ok, found it.

That was speculated, but I also recall DMTM replying to those speculations, saying something to the effect of "Why would we print this other stuff when we have the chance to make our own?".

That hypothetical list is probably not what it actually was, IMO. Legendary Collection was like the base set of Pokemon, so it "probably" would have included cards from base-Neo Destiny.

that is kind of interesting,

though why would they do that? they had more than plenty of cards they needed to print, from japanese sets, they could have even had a "promo" expansion with all the promo's we've missed or whatever, even though all new cards from Wizards could have been interesting. i'm guessing the 'new' mechanic was what became Pokemon EX's.

Legendary II collection would have probably included the neo genesis series, maybe some gym pokemon or trainers.

a question would be, what if wizards decided instead of translating to make all new sets by themselves for the american market to keep things "fresh" and "balanced'.

that would have sucked.

Back in the day, LOTS of people were crying out for a US only WOTC made set... There may have been lots of cards in JPN but the fact is ppl wanted a US Only set...

It would have been a great idea actually. WOTC had a lot of experience balancing formats for all their card games. It would have been a great, well balanced set that would have saved all of our format woes.

i do remember reading that jamboree would have included some of the vending cards... i think WotC were lokoing at this set as an oppurtunity to give the people who love the game what they want / missed from the japanese series.

i don't think we're ever going to know what was in it though :(

Yeah, banning all the cards that were "dangerous" for the metagame. That IS experience.

Actually, I do seem to recall that. But it would have been a small part of the set.
