Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

You play Pokémon? Pfffttt...

When i played it was during pokemania and the cool kids who played bbal and jelled their hair used to stop by my house on the way home from school and trade... everyone played.

now its not so big but there is still a few leagues but im sure the percentage of `cool` kids is way down.

now I just play with some friends at the kitchen table.

Now I don't tell anyone unless they play it, too. My friend got into it with me, and 2 of my cousins wanted me to teach them.

me and my freinds in 3rd grade played pokemon and these jerks would say this whenever they saw us "ooh its the poke-nerds!" I have to admit, it got to me, but now no one makes fun of me. Sooner or later those people who call you "nerds" for playing pokemon will grow up.

If playing pokemon was the weirdest thing I did , Alot of people i know would be happy

If some one is making fun of me for playing pokemon then good for them... ill drink in their honor

the trick to anything anyone says to you is not to care.

The PTCG is childish?

Whos cares? Nothing is wrong with bein childish. In matter of fact, i preffer to be a childish adult than a bitter adult.

There's a couple of guys who laught at me for playing pokemon and i just laught them back for their alcoholism =)

They think than party, drinking and being an dumb its much more mature than playing a trading card game, so, who's smarter? They or us?

Us.

Nail on the head. I get a lot of junk from people, even in college. I laugh when they decide to do drugs and alcohol to pass the time. There is the occasional one who doesn't do any of that and simply doesn't like the hobby, but hey, to each his own, and that's the bottom line here.

I'm just thinkin'

TC games are expensive hobbys (at least here in mexico) so, people who plays pokemon has no money left for drugs or alcohol, haha.

Now, seriusly, PTCG its a healty secure hobby.

Makes the kids prefer pass his time in nice, clean and secure local stores playing with his friends than getting involved in dangerous activities.

Everybody thinks this TCG is a kid's game, but it isn't! Sure, it was originally targeted to the Junior/Senior age groups, but the only thing childish about it is the artwork. There's a lot of preperation, tactics, and skill involved in the game.

Being in the age group I'm in, it's pretty common to be able to say random Pokémon related things and get some people laughing with you, since just about everyone in my generation liked Pokémon at some time. Either way I don't care what people think, something I've come to learn quickly after being teased (for my height and wearing glasses, of all things) in elementary and middle school.

To be honest, which is better? Partying your brain cells dead or hanging with some friends playing a friendly card game? It's the same argument my mom says to my grandma about how I like anime. Do drugs/alcohol really beat out a friendly, "childish", game? I think not. While they think it's the 'cool' thing to do, they'll be the ones paying for it in the end, and outside of money for cards, what are we loosing?

I play Pokemon tcg with one of the most "popular" (I hate the expression) people in my year, (Im in grade 10) And our games usually draw a crowd. :D
