Thank the lord, I think I could cry tears of joy right now (okay maybe not really, but you get the point). It's been wayyyyy too long without an Alakazam. Now we just need to see him in his original glory (not that an Alakazam* isn't cool or anything).

I was seriously starting to wonder if they had compltely dropped him out of TCG production.
Well he DOES have the same amount of HP as the original...

................oops did it again

Bangiras was kind enough to translate it for me

Exploud ex - Colorless – HP150 Stage 2
Poke-Body: Extra Noise If Exploud ex is your Active Pokemon, in between turns, put 1 damage counter on each of your opponent’s Pokemon-ex.
[C][C] Derail: 40 damage. Discard a Special Energy Card attached to the Defending Pokemon.
[C][C][C] Hyper Tail: 60 damage. If the Defending Pokemon has any Poke-Powers or Poke-Bodies, this attack does 60 damage + 20 more damage.
Weakness: Fighting Resistance: None Retreat: 3

Well this happened back in 2000 with Kadabra...from Wikipedia:

In November of 2000 it was reported that Uri Geller, an Israeli psychic-magician who claims to bend spoons with his mind, sued Nintendo over the Pokémon "Yungerā" (ユンゲラー or "Yungeller"; "Kadabra" is the English name of this Pokémon) which he claimed was an unauthorized appropriation of his identity. The Pokémon in question has psychic abilities and carries bent spoons. He also claimed that the star on Kadabra's forehead, and the lightning patterns on its chest, are symbolism popular with the Nazi Party of Germany, and was outraged at the connotations that Nintendo has supposedly made. Although the symbols are derived from Zener cards, the name is a pun; the katakana letter 'n' (ン) looks quite like the letter 'ri' (リ) (the translation of Mr. Geller's name into Katakana would be 「ユリゲラー」 or "Yurigerā"). Geller sued for the equivalent of 100 million dollars, but lost.

Don't know if that had anything to do with the disappearance of the whole evolution line. Just something I found out while looking around on the internet. :)

hmm...first, I'll address the issue of exploud ex...I'm rather surprised. Exploud is known for having 4 attacks, and the ex only has 2 exes and a poke-body...
---
Anyways...unlike most Pokemon *, I actually see some potential in Alakazam *. It's first attack combos well with its second. And a basic with an attack copier that doesnt count energy cost is definitely good-I believe in the past only evolved Pokemon could do that. Whenever a basic Pokemon had a metronome-type move, it required the energy cost (including mew ex's pokebody...>_<)

EDIT: And still no abra or kadabra =P

Erm....as you might have seen if you read my translation above, it *does* require Alakazam * to have the energy cost of the attack it's copying.

Ummm...

It was my assumption that the attack doesn't need the true energy cost, since the attack on Alakazam* required 3 Colorless. If I remember correctly, all attacks that copied other attacks including energy cost were just one colorless.

What about Rainbow moves?

I guess with Alakazam*, this means there will never be an Abra or Kadabra printed again...

Alright, Delta Ex cards! Alakazam star too!!

I never thought I'd see the day when Alakazam would be coming back on a card! So, Miracle Crystal is the set after Holon Phantom, right? I can't wait for this great looking set!

 I MUST GET MY HANDS ON THE CHARIZARD DELTA!!!

Drools...

Wheres the love for the new stoise? Kindra with sniping....too good to pass up. Thanks nintendo, making me wait for like forever to get a new alakazam...but I guess a zam* is okay...now, just need to wait for alakazam ex and damage swap to come back...:nonono: . But this set looks to be a set that opens up new doors.

Aw, it's just *. Hopefully they'll actually make an evolved alakazam in this set too...?

Also, delta exes. Oh. That explains sceptile's odd type.

And what's with blaziken having only 1 weakness? Not fair!

1. The set list is already out, and there isn't an evolved alakazam...
2. Sceptile is the only delta ex. Dunno why.

Why not Kadabra? Don't even tell me that they're not allowed to print Kadabra anymore (well, do tell me, but I'll be disappointed).
dunno, was it kadabra or zam that got the psychic dude a bent out of shape instead of his spoons?

Kadabra. But Kadabra cards were made after that, so it couldn't be because of it...
