Ok, I was preparing for my Saturday's nationals for over a month and picking decks like crazy (some people here knows what I am talking about ) and decided to play Polistall. I just needed 2 more politoed exs (They were coming in mail from a trade). So it was like friday...and I still didnt got them and I turn blue and open my binders and shoeboxes and throw all the cards on floor. I saw 4 Possible decks:

-Jynx
-Queendome
-Ludicargo
-Mercury
-LBS
-Metanite
-Le MeTro

I turn white and thought for some seconds....

I know! I will play....eeeew....no way!

~4 Hours later~

....
....
I know! I will Play LBS!

So I throw my decklist together and put cards in sleeves. But I didn't like the Swoop Teleporters and Porygon2 in the deck, so I just played good old style:

Something like this.

So I went and test it (I dont like LBS so much but I still managed to lost only 2 games vs Jynx) against my Friend peter. I decided that i lend him my Jynx deck for tournament so he is all UUUUUUUUU! What does Jynx do? Then, we went to sleep (he slept at my house). He quickly sleeps and starts snoring, and it takes me an hour to sleep (dont mention it was a full moon that night...). I sleep very comfortly until....something terrible happened...I just felt a sudden pain in my forehead and woked up. I hit a wall with my head XD It was 1:13 or something. Last time I checked the clock, it was 3:41 and then I slept (so i slept for amazing 5 hours).

Okay, lets skip the boring part and go on:
So, Peter goes to the tournament, but also, my friend Klemen (Flaming Ninja) and Peter's brother Matija goes. They dunn have a deck though. So I quickly give Klemen my Metanite and Matija receives a VERY bad queendom (without rare candies and all). So at 9:00 we are at the tourney and we sign up and give our decklists out.

1st round: BYE
I won a city championship, which in my country means I get a BYE in 1st round, so I check what other people are playing and what are my friends doing. Peter, Klemen AND Matija won and got on 2nd round.

2nd round: Maks Z./Queendom
So one of my bad matchups eh? I start with 2 Onix! YIIIIIIIHA! But full moon seemed to make a pulse on him so he made a bunch of misplays, but still beated me :p. So the next game, I do my best and get setup with Jirachi, but I used 1 warp point to early and the 2nd one for a stupid reason (I tried to blef). So he only has an Active Queen and I have an Steelix ex (Active) and Blastoise ex, Lugia ex, Pidgeot, 2 jirachi benched. So i think...yey! I hit it for 100, next turn he KOs me, I send out Lugia and win. So I mudslide him and...oops....he only had 2 prizes left and KOd me for the win. LOSE 2/0

So I am all ...BUT! I know I will face the bad players with theme decks from now on and am ALL happy! All friends won!

3rd round: ???/???
I just know I elemental Blast him to death, he had a theme deck. WIN/2/0

All my friends win ^^

4th round: ???/???
Same thing as 3rd. WIN/2/0

5th Round: ???/Politoed ex/Feraligatr ex
He seems very happy when he has a poliwhirl with 2 energies on 1st round and I have a jirachi DX and benched onix . But I drew a holon transceiver, searched for mentor, squirtle, pidgey and Lugia ex. I use wishing star, obtained rare candy, pidgeot, quick search, rare candy, blastoise ex, evolve in steelix ex, rain, rain, holon, warp point, ko Poliwhirl He didnt know what I was doing and was looking EXACTLY as this ------------> 2nd game...elemental blast to death. WIN/2/0

Klemen and Peter lost (Peter lost vs Matija-his younger brother with VERY bad nidoqueen).

So after preying (or praying, whatever) I was in finals! W00T W00T!

(Finals---->top 4)

Klemen comes 10th and Peter 6th, but Matija is 4th!!! So I am all happy until I see pairings...

Top 4 vs Jaša g./Flariados
1st game: I am focused and all and setup 2 stoise exs and a pidgeot and attack with blastoises but I loose.
2nd Game: I am all...yeah, I loose BIG DEAL! And make serious stupid plays like attacking with Jirachi DX, but Blastoise ex with 2 warp point cost him the game.
3rd Game: I would get t1 pidgeot and t1 blastoise but both pidgeot are prized. GG

3-4 vs Matija S.D./Bad queen
As I lend him the deck, he forfeits

So I finish 3rd, obtain my bag with 9 pencils, a pen, a baseball hat, a book, 18 deoxys boosters ( ) and my BEUTIFUL MEWTWO CUP! *hugs it*.

I dont know if I get invite to worlds (yet) but I hope!

-Not receiving Politoeds in time

Great job on getting third, tough about your bad luck with the Pidgeot ><

But you got a trophy! I don't think I've seen pics of the Nats trophies yet, what do they look like?
 
They are like glass and they have a mewtwo picture on them (the one that is howing 3 fingers to you). It stands on a black box that you put in the electric (dunno the word) thing trough the cable and then it lows. Its amazing! I will try to post some pics!

Obviously congrats to Jasa, third time in a row to Worlds!
I hope next year the game in Slovenia can grow up quickly like 2 years ago, having competitive players!

I wouldn't have complained if I were you, but byes are supposed to be given to one randomly selected person. That's the way swiss has been for over 100 years and that's the way the 2005-2006 TO Procedures say it is done. If it happens to somebody else, remind the TO of the procedures.

No, it's a bonus here! If you win a city championship you win the 1st round of nationals (we dont have regionals/States and its not a bye, you just win it, but saying bye is easier :p)

Jynx=No, too afraid of queen.

You're talking about the random byes during the tournament. They are indeed randomly selected from the people with the fewest points.

However, TOM has a nifty feature which makes you able to give people 'assigned byes' for the first or the first two rounds. This is done mainly for some INTL Nats, where winning a City Championship gives you a bye for the first round. Sometimes winning a Regionals would give you byes for the first two rounds. It's been done like this for years here =)

Remember STS? You could earn up to three byes for the first three rounds if I remember correctly.
 
You should definitely get an invite to Worlds. If you're in the top 4 of an INTL National Championship, you do get invite to Worlds.
